Job Description

•        reports directly to the Board of Directors
: k4 ~& d6 s0 G•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals
9 {/ `$ o( t. c4 c7 w# _" X) ^# o+ a•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board5 s: d$ [. E9 ^2 p: @; @9 g& e) x
•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        is accountable for effective administration of agency : K- z0 r$ A+ f
•        is accountable to meet community expectations and funders’ requirements + r6 s9 ^* r% V* w9 C6 u: w8 k
•        develop/review and administer operational policies and procedures
+ q- B2 V6 W$ J& H1 k•        development and management of the programs budget
+ V9 |, Q4 V% h, _•        develop, implement and manage operational and programming budgets$ Q. k8 B. U4 }

" X% A8 H: m- A•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff+ ?2 v5 E# R! d
•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers
) u, |* X0 p6 x3 k•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions& X7 \+ k2 f* m9 m/ P$ h8 O" d
•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators
  H6 X( A" J0 s9 N6 Z•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth+ s- i! e* Y( G; h3 X0 I
•        meet with staff on regular basis# K# W4 j  [  r2 n( j: m
•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff$ Y0 P( @6 x* C9 X: v. g

% x+ c  b/ C7 b: nPrograms/Services
  U; o1 D/ I, D& j•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
8 h9 P4 T! m, M, K•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
, N4 Q" j9 q' N$ I. G1 v6 y1 J* ?9 ?•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders
1 j. W5 Z1 a  {4 S5 A! E' Y: A& o•        set program priorities and directions
  \; T  G; g- O•        identify community and user needs and trends9 {, o9 t2 `+ L. _9 ]4 l
•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends0 o# c2 M1 l4 Z( x% Z7 g" Q. E
•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research* x6 u' |0 p- {+ i5 _
•        maintenance of appropriate reporting5 a3 K( L* G) R+ U. D
•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required
) N4 ?, |7 Z8 Z- U. z& ?' z1 S: @$ L7 Y' E•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development: a; h) Z2 Y+ |4 a, a9 L6 a6 s- e. i
•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

External Relations
  j0 H! S) _' y6 o•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities' A7 y* w- }; L! K3 g) b" r
•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders
# j- P$ s/ D6 Z$ j+ j9 _* P•        communicate the value of the organization to the public( w/ ]$ E. Q5 ~/ A
•        identify community needs and trends4 z5 w" }: e6 a
•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups# U/ i" v+ L% w$ _6 C& q, N5 i
•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups# f1 C5 H5 P7 r3 _5 r
•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.
6 C# P, c! C: V8 |  r) Q3 r& m  q•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff; J# c# Y5 @+ s

% h9 N5 w& ]9 l4 M2 wQualifications2 P4 X1 r  K" O4 A# ~% B- X# {: i6 e% H
-        University degree in a related field; 7 v3 `0 p% s1 o9 K& D5 ], m7 b
-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;! F+ Z! M4 C! G# E' v- Q" o
-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
, `  R2 H8 J/ H-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization 5 K# l+ a' v$ U1 A0 z1 E  r
. K( v2 W  l9 Q5 H+ u$ s, f6 T1 D
Salary
1 h+ G( d: A* r% x-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
: g; F( c. _1 L7 C4 C6 T# q9 v  ?( d# u- I3 N: [0 K
