Job Description

•        reports directly to the Board of Directors
6 d  u, q2 Q% j3 d9 w, t+ @•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals5 i( c  @/ k, c' x8 Q) |
•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board
  w& ?1 N6 V5 b# |•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        is accountable for effective administration of agency

•        development and management of the programs budget

Staff
! P/ Y3 E% |, N$ E7 U•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff+ [4 U" ~& [9 w/ K5 c4 y) s5 Z/ t
•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers0 j& H7 @- X  ]
•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions" ?% t4 y  m* A+ |4 ?' V. w. d5 Z
•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators
8 i: D  H& z! `•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth
  D, B0 Z# ]4 I•        meet with staff on regular basis

Programs/Services
2 |' B  X" A+ c7 {- ]•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services6 i; A4 A$ f9 L/ T
•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities9 A* e  S) e4 e4 m
•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders
5 t; h+ t- C( u" S1 k  y+ L•        set program priorities and directions 9 q$ R+ X* T4 Y) U. p
•        identify community and user needs and trends6 M8 l: C. Y3 a* i, a8 d
•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends& {' b6 x, ^9 ~3 x
•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research
2 C1 E+ D' ]) F  E* _: c3 r8 t( _•        maintenance of appropriate reporting0 _) X: g* `0 [+ C
•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required8 u) |: Z8 t7 S+ C/ G
•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development$ K; S" Q: H) ?8 k0 W
•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others: U! o6 v$ o5 z. D' B- k( R

External Relations: q1 J8 r) Z! m: c) U! n
•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities
4 _: D$ \" ^5 e# N•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders  \3 j0 m& W7 [; F5 u$ T
•        communicate the value of the organization to the public& T9 s8 f4 Z2 B: V: B9 Q
•        identify community needs and trends# v+ Q9 M- N0 P& y! [
•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups
) a; C0 e" m" K/ `- I) {•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups- m9 N. L; ~% Y, @( r
•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems./ S; E1 a# \, s; `7 d# T2 X
•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff' Z2 F# \7 t& i. q, a% @

7 s0 b) J2 x% i! j* I1 `/ iQualifications2 D; r  q' p* i  \' d
-        University degree in a related field;
8 V6 W- u$ ]! z4 _( B-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;
" J3 d! C  E9 a3 p1 I8 W& R-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
1 V2 t& L7 n% g0 j: ^-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization ' i+ s& w/ k% K' O

7 {9 R4 M8 }2 p. I, y8 c% ASalary1 I5 ~/ b+ m3 Z
-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
