• provide leadership to staff and volunteers

• monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators

• delivery of program or activity to participants as required

• ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others

External Relations
j0 H! S) _' y6 o• act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities' A7 y* w- }; L! K3 g) b" r
• build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public & funders
# j- P$ s/ D6 Z$ j+ j9 _* P• communicate the value of the organization to the public( w/ ]$ E. Q5 ~/ A
• identify community needs and trends4 z5 w" }: e6 a
• coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups# U/ i" v+ L% w$ _6 C& q, N5 i
• advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups# f1 C5 H5 P7 r3 _5 r
• work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.

- University degree in a related field; 7 v3 `0 p% s1 o9 K& D5 ], m7 b
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;! F+ Z! M4 C! G# E' v- Q" o
- Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
, ` R2 H8 J/ H- 2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization 5 K# l+ a' v$ U1 A0 z1 E r
. K( v2 W l9 Q5 H+ u$ s, f6 T1 D
Salary
1 h+ G( d: A* r% x- $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits
