Key Responsibilities
" f: ]$ h5 w4 S- submit information for community news
- L8 h4 \7 R, K4 O; u- provide volunteers to update membership database1 r3 q, @" J) t) r3 ~0 B% J- a
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers. S, m& m- ?5 D3 v
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties4 |( E9 ^/ D& ]+ `+ t8 L
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
1 Y3 J0 s5 V. Q _) _- provide volunteers for various programs
+ H" c+ e: R8 h# y5 T( z- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
6 B( `" H( x- Z& X! Z2 {5 I- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
0 Z6 q# C, I0 p/ ~" r- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities6 r5 {' B0 n/ n1 o% Q0 @& o, f* ~
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
6 @# y0 M1 L: D# r8 y- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
) B' Q0 _2 A/ {3 G- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed% s8 s8 E# D- ~/ S7 |# E4 D
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed6 L% j6 f& T+ r8 H$ |* r4 u7 J# g
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
! s1 D" n9 k, o- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
' L" \2 ]" j& g8 L! f- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
' H) A# A% T6 q- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
1 ?4 B9 Q; X0 {1 r5 _$ c! v- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 8 v, C0 Q6 z, K7 b# R
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis % X; c+ F: V( b, [. i7 y6 I
- evaluations
- x2 H3 r. I7 q z; I# m5 I r- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

x% D8 ^6 Z- O V- @) @$ e- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education& o7 Z& }: g7 w3 w% b ]4 }
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
* R; N0 l3 b- q7 {/ y6 ^- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
) v0 b* K3 W0 I8 U% Q$ f- leadership skills6 v- w' G: F1 q! {/ S k* g
- management and supervision skills* H/ C3 x" \; |: ^
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills& e. `; k2 i4 E w/ ? y
