Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities$ F: S* n( x. |/ C
- submit information for community news - V7 A+ C# F& a A I
- provide volunteers to update membership database' c0 y+ F4 ^2 w. W" _( }6 Z
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
+ w, t6 g1 }) M- ^+ ]; V* e- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
4 P( L. @8 m" G- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties" ]6 ] [* U8 I8 i
- provide volunteers for various programs
1 \$ a$ X* z0 G- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
7 Z9 H0 L- ~/ H! B1 c- B- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation% z' b3 M2 Q. [ a
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
* h; c* }1 s' L5 Q- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
0 x N: ]. W# v' y" H1 ^- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports. v* t9 t/ E, b& E" S [( Z w
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed! D4 C' o8 z' i5 m% r
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
z% n; R6 N: u) r& w- ^- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)5 T4 Q y, @" k
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
0 \5 I- q: ?9 [% u E+ @# K- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
2 W! _3 ]$ l# P( A" q- k- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers " g% e, T9 G1 Q
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers # O- L0 S$ ~7 T% y3 W5 \/ R
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 6 {/ K7 ~2 H3 K5 W: e- K
- evaluations
! O' ?- f- P h( {& k- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre$ y; { n8 ~# P4 J3 a2 l4 y
8 `: E: J( z5 b; n. F: ?Qualifications
1 D& x5 d8 ~1 Z/ t5 ]- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
/ p( I9 e1 h. o9 E% t8 q- good oral and written Chinese and English skills& T- T* f; }5 q! [- L$ Y
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
$ M' C/ q k+ G0 C/ [/ p! X- leadership skills, N1 p7 E* H) k! R) U3 E! a
- management and supervision skills
6 o1 f, p+ n1 c, x& C3 J, O- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
