Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities' L* [# H# e3 Z/ H9 ?2 B" A' z' Q
- submit information for community news ) ~ `- H) J* X& _+ J
- provide volunteers to update membership database/ D8 k5 q7 A. t2 e% `
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
$ C! W& S$ [& G- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
" U% o6 U' v e( D( w0 G7 v& j- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
' g5 s3 g7 R' Z0 |2 ^7 B! x9 d- provide volunteers for various programs ! V* P3 y( u. p8 w; X" s9 b
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
8 v4 r$ L8 m% O% q7 J& q- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation; k% b2 \7 r% K; T* [
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities6 C9 I, K8 X! s/ W8 u
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
! ^5 e$ r' t0 M7 C7 v- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
" z9 Q" @1 P+ [- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed; S; W! ^' N3 H3 l
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed" b. R; b; J- [
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)5 y7 o( W+ O, L" g, e
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events

5 Q {$ [9 J2 O2 |- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers $ p! n0 K* @9 F8 T9 M: b; D
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers / O2 @4 U) b2 |" w
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis ( x: V+ x" Y( ?" H8 y$ w8 {
- evaluations

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
$ a$ [ o1 ?- Z: L( N9 C- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
l: k' T2 F+ C# s8 n+ W$ \6 b4 v- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
) C$ @$ R7 H6 J4 m2 z2 }- leadership skills! z' L/ u0 m6 ]2 I5 y4 l
- management and supervision skills3 z( G; d9 V C4 X. X+ h7 s! j
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
