$ T8 T7 F, Y" @8 F$ K  }After I came to Edmonton, I had celebrated Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving, Halloween and Remembrance Day. All of them are interesting for me and the most interesting holiday is Halloween.

My teacher told me, I must prepared candies and many children would come to my home asked for them. So I bought many candies form Zellers and Safeway. When I came home with the candies, my wife told me that the candies would not enough so I went to Safeway again and bought more candies.

( F* [2 N; P7 \* @- g0 Q1 rMy child was shy and didn’t spoke many English so I taught her how to shout “Trick or Treat”. She was perfect at shout “Trick or Treat” after two days training.

- f- w% E' `$ s" Q9 fOctober 31st was Halloween, I got up very early that day. My wife cooked chicken which I would bring to class for potluck. My child was very happy because she already waited this day for a long time.

In the afternoon, we had a potluck in the class. Yuong Sook, a Korea girl, made some sushi looked very beautiful. Chun Yuan, a Chinese girl, cooked some bouilli tasted very delicious. Of cause my wife cooked the best food because they were clear off.

6 p3 A' ?. A- @After lunch, we had a party in the student center. Many students prinked their face and wore some strange clothing. They were singing and dancing at their, what a happy day!

When we arrived home, the sky became dark. My child said, “Dad, may I go out and ask for candies?”
“Yes. Why not?” I said.

My child went out with a bag. My wife and I stayed at home to wait children. To my surprised, only three children went to my home and I left many candies.

One hour later, my child came back with a full bag. “Dad,” She said, “my bag is full. I have many candies now. What an interesting day!”

After I came to Edmonton, I have celebrated Canada Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Halloween and Remembrance Day. All are interesting but the most interesting one is Halloween.

+ {) }$ U# R$ H' oHalloween is a fun and “sweet” day for children. My daughter is a shy girl and doesn’t speak much English but she was as excited about the fun moments as all other kids. I showed her how to do “Trick or Treat”. She became perfect shouting out loud “Trick or Treat” after two days’ intensive training.

My teacher suggested I should prepare candies for the children who would knock on door by door asking for them on Halloween. I bought a lot at Zellers and Safeway. My wife then warned me that the amount of candies I bought would be far from enough. I had to go to Safeway again and bought some more.

October 31st was Halloween. My daughter was very happy that the day she had waited for a long time finally came. So was I, I guess, because I got up very early without the reminder of my loud alarm clock.

My wife cooked chicken as my contribution.There were some beautiful shushi from Yuong Sook, a Korea girl; some tasty bouilli (what’s that?) from Chun Yuan, a Chinese girl... Of course the most delicious dish was from me because my wife cooked the best, which was easy to prove by the fact that nothing was left of the chicken.

After lunch, we had a party in the student center. Many students were singing and dancing with their prinked faces or masks and in weird customs. What a happy day!

She rushed out right away with a big bag. My wife and I stayed home to wait for other “trick or treat” children. To my surprise, only three stopped by and I had many candies left.

One hour later, my daughter came back with her full bag: “Daddy, Daddy, look, my bag is full. I have lots of candies now…What an interesting day!”
“You are right, kiddo. Halloween is the most interesting holiday in Canada, I think”.
