and most of the newly admitted students who applied for housing were
; r/ I& M1 f% Y rasked to look for a residence on open market.

While the average cost of living for a typical graduate student has
) L) B2 H# K1 b7 e; b/ ] i( H, nincreased by something more than 70% percent we are getting paid
! [5 Y- B- l8 m3 eexactly for the same amount of money that we were offered in our 9 }. @# x. y( H+ K* u; n
admission letter (18000 CAD + 1500 CAD for international students
4 }. v% c/ C& b! v P* N; o=19500CAD. What I get is something around 1000CAD/month!!! after & ?* y" {* Q* y7 c r
tuition fee and taxes). To make the argument easy to understand just

us) has to pay twice as much as I was paying for housing when I was

$ V0 Y4 z# V3 v$ ?students are the main pillars of research work at the university.* D5 R I/ N8 {& l+ E# n

My objective in bringing all abovementioned points in your attention
) A! p- q/ f, O) [; sis to question the adequacy of financial aid for graduate and ! _9 v4 E8 H( H* M9 D
especially international students. Isn抰 it time for the GSA to take
% F: \, h1 r1 L# `7 a5 F
' I# {/ o2 y5 `* z( ?8 V3 i% Dinitiative in raising the issue of increasing financial aid for
& u+ _6 t5 P. Q3 \) U/ Dgraduate students so that the can afford this increase in costs?
