focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty,

Theatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to $ i: t& n7 ]: V& O/ y
take advantage of other internal and external advertising . J# d( t1 A1 p& T$ }
opportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional

· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.

a. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost-
/ P, N$ z' n2 C4 y" s Y) eeffectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the
4 _( c f- t; p- |" Fvenues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and 9 t. H9 s* ~5 r4 p2 K' p
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of 9 `" p- e# E6 b# t1 C& o* V2 o
the renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited

· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues + j! G) C! t' m
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining, ) X1 k1 E4 f. K3 ^* W# K
evaluating and terminating, as necessary.( V/ \* R2 @" i0 E4 g0 q
To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at
' V$ z6 \1 y# P1 ~all times, this includes the development and implementation of such
, x! [! a0 X& c2 B; ]( g" S% P2 Fschedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and
! m5 A* _# n/ W' f- g$ Dcost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it 0 w8 [$ R F. Q0 @- m, V
is in operation or needs to be in operation.
4 B" x% [0 c3 w% o" f* Q· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure
: N* e9 ]! }+ t) z5 O0 Nthat an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to
& Q8 j/ z, D& k6 m efacilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all + Z) M1 W, a$ N$ u; ^" y8 M3 y; n
renters needs are met.: m4 [& d4 J+ c) e; j4 p; x8 ?' r# a5 o
· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills
* ]! @0 Q" w( H/ Mand attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of

effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and

scheduling. To handle payroll related matters, under the guidance

that additional requests such as licensed receptions are arranged.

systems and processes utilized by or within the venues meet the

To provide input and expertise in the formulation of appropriate

Programming and Venues and to discuss and refine those budgets 9 a! ^' x, D0 X8 L& n
Manager of Programming and Venues, and Manager of Finance & - N) t9 w; J0 l6 W1 K3 g7 K4 L
Administration prior to their submission for final approval.5 b$ S$ f r- I8 D- g/ x9 N5 k
· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively ; r' ^+ ?! f3 U, H5 a( V
reflects the budgets approved for the venues and/or which reflects / W* z* t8 C5 P6 R2 M! M
the best interests of the venues and the Students´ Union.. T& v8 H: {& o" W+ k5 t& Y
· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and
8 \, P; j1 y% sadministrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the

Administration with a view to determining and implementing action

setting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for

· To develop accurate documentation to be used in connection with
' f6 e8 a$ _2 U0 j |8 bthe billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely ! f! a& ^; k; j3 [" A5 ^( s

· To recognize, address and handle all matters relating to financial 0 Q" @; i- \+ {& v# P
and administrative procedures and systems in a manner which reflects
4 f+ d2 H" H4 ]the requirements of the SU´s Manager of Programming and Venues and

% d& r; Y* B; k6 _# f. ia. To ensure, at all times, that the systems and processes used in
' {# Q+ r U7 j2 w5 urenting the venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and - _6 P* f! V4 C. O f( K d U
needs, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the + ?1 a* u. W) l
venues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:/ H, R5 X5 H% i$ L& b5 R

· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as 9 N3 d2 ?$ |2 |8 `4 n7 n
may be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this # G6 h6 v4 l q4 k4 o9 k4 g' ~( {
is to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes ) S: `, v' s1 _8 d* } z1 M
in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation,

to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and
! U( D- p8 r7 U2 efunctionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.4 J/ F6 B% c3 G# q% i
· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures ! s1 s! M( l% p3 {
as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-
" Y0 {' Y. J6 h4 N3 B; O; Keffective operation of the venues.
3 y6 Q( [" f8 {7 J% s· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to . A1 m% L4 ~% H' [6 c
dates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.
% U' U: e: ~3 H* g0 J+ T· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and + _% c; y- W2 W( X4 i K" Y
that such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.: `1 ~* t1 y, E
· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their

· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular
8 s2 S1 c9 K6 } N; g& r, zrental with consultation with the Technical Director.
0 [3 y6 v3 f' s7 W+ R7 ~% |· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the 3 b+ x* L$ r H. ?' x/ r
SU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately
/ _% B& f% a; i9 B0 N+ kanswered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in ( t* h, Y2 Q0 [; Y* f x- K8 @4 j
follow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.; Q, b+ h/ E2 R# G/ A# k
To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,
; A" \# B6 ~) ?7 Seffectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that
q" t; C5 j" @0 u" N" Z% H, Othe cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision 1 M9 `' d) C9 |
made for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of : W- }1 X+ s2 |- `7 G" c, x: _+ U

· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of

marketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as 2 g- s8 p/ G- ^6 `4 {! M0 g6 q
may provide such challenges and/or problems.
