Section 1 (p) of the Traffic Safety Act states that the term “highway” is defined as “any thoroughfare, street, road, trail, avenue, parkway, driveway, viaduct, lane, alley, square, bridge, causeway, trestleway or other place or any part of them, whether publically or privately owned, that the public is ordinarily entitled or permitted to use for the passage or parking of vehicles”. Based on this definition, both a main street and a parking lot would fall under the definition of a “highway”.

Intersections within a parking lot are to be treated the same as intersections on any other roads.

' U* J2 o0 n% DSection 34 of the Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulation outlines right of way rules at intersections. It states

“34(1) Except as otherwise provided in this Part or Part 2, when 2 vehicles approach or enter an intersection from different highways at approximately the same time, the person driving the vehicle to the left shall yield the right of way to the vehicle on the right.

任何路口都是以Stop或Yield确认主路与辅路，在没有信号灯或指示牌的路口不存在任何主观判定的主路。
a parking lot would fall under the definition of a “highway”.
