我与Bryan Anderson通过email。下面是他对terwillegar homeless project 的回复,我认为他还是站在比较客观的立场上看这个问题的。而且他对现在的项目是反对的。从email 中可以看出来。。。我会在这次选举中支持他。呵呵& |4 H. i3 x" K: a

John, first of all, I strongly believe putting 60 people with issues in an isolated location is too many. Aside from the fact that council has no opportunity to rule on this project, I have been working constantly with your HOA and CL to reduce the size and get certainty on the tenant profile. I have had more than 15 meetings with the mayor, Hancock, Rajote, Bishop Jane Alexander, Soroka, and the minister of Holy Trinity. The whole process has been a media nightmare for T Towne, orchestrated by Homeward Trust and Murray Soroka. The process is the reverse of what seems to work in other jurisdictions. Meet with community leaders and elected officials first, decide what is appropriate, engage the community, get the both aware and supportive and THEN site the project. There have been over 2000 homeless housed across the city, many in ones, twos, and threes placed in existing apts that will provide subsidized rents. Those are ind's that are supposed to be able to live independently with minimal support. The project in T Towne I understand is for those who require more consistent devices and support. It's just too many in one building away from their daily haunts. With servicing of the site now slated for next spring there is more time to communicate with the community. |
