: s) f; N, o: M V% c9 tEdmonton Transit is currently seeking applications for the challenging position of Conventional Transit Operator — for positions starting in Summer 2007. This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.

• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information./ g7 x9 R) i5 ?' O
• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
; W1 d; N! N7 ]* v7 n• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.

& q: U. V( t6 \/ q' U. Yto be diplomatic and courteous in dealing with the public, from the first passenger to the last passenger

• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training.( Z1 w6 B$ {% M- O% L
• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date)
n) C! y1 [8 V, ]showing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period. 4 h5 ?% R1 a+ b
• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill ! B+ U: P8 K5 u, F' t
video-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).

• Internal ETS applicants must have completed all mandatory in-house training.

HOURS OF WORK:

Thereafter: Guaranteed minimum 74 hours biweekly/ {( E$ R! q3 p& ?8 K3 | r9 q, F0 }
