Edmonton Transit is currently seeking applications for the challenging position of Conventional Transit Operator — for positions starting in Summer 2007. This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.# g$ Y$ @9 I- Q% a

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.

• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information." o2 {+ D" [# v
• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather

• Adhere to schedules.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- E+ ]' O' w% D* u% q3 r) ~/ C• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.

• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.

; l B6 G6 q$ ~! fshowing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period.

video-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).6 f! K3 n# D Q! E! R6 D4 y
• Successful completion of the ETS Training Program.

1st year: Guaranteed minimum 67.4 hours bi-weekly
