the Students' Union and oversees all electoral logistics as per Bylaw , I+ w7 ]5 f y& J
2000. The Chief Returning Officer shall be recommended to Students'

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.

. B$ }. h" d5 v9 ?4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing
' }( G- y8 B8 d7 V8 f, _adequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations 5 |/ R, ~% Y4 N7 W& s0 t
across campus, and advertising the poll locations.

/ H+ X: a& J- N. L5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/ ) U; u7 r( W* g+ Q& B9 X# K. I

parties.

10) To be available to all parties during elections/referenda for a 6 e7 Q9 m7 `/ y0 d) r1 G
minimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday,

of voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.

1 {' P" V& ~, k1 X11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during - m( }& f8 r% c4 Y3 |; e/ ^, ~

12) To ensure that a cost effective and accurate ballot counting . ]0 v& l0 P3 |9 L4 k# `& `# N
process is in place.

13) To submit to Students' Council, prior to April 30, a final report

14) To organize a minimum of one (1) forum to be held during the week : @3 m U: T- z

15) Perform other job related duties as required by the Council

QUALIFICATIONS:- e) z8 U# {. _
1 M2 K& C1 |+ w- W" H1) Must be an undergrad student registered in at least one (1) course
% [0 M9 o1 M% G/ C' @8 @' jfor each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students' - j% y7 L: ?( z) C: j" f2 s
Union member.$ S4 U& p; F1 `# n& b
/ K4 v& H0 v. q- v- h5 _
2) Must have some experience in student elections.
( [3 z9 W1 h r, B! }2 d& o8 ^
/ v9 U/ U- r4 R8 h' ?7 K& G' j, I3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or
/ a0 q" N4 s3 X) m2 n+ Eany of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position 7 ], ?* L- ^+ E& a
with the Students' Union.

4) Willingness and ability to work varying hours.3 D5 Y, X& _ o( o/ O$ [

5) Excellent project management skills are required.

5) Ability to deal effectively with Students' Union and University
