ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Position Responsibilities

Community Initiatives Documenter
& k( ?/ A( V  k% K) `/ K1 g6 _& LThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

5 T3 e$ @, z7 x9 KEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

Qualifications:
" d$ M+ m6 |3 ]" K1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
) E! X# ^% p5 S% ]3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
  Z8 \+ b! z( j7 p4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
