ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Length: A maximum of 15 weeks
Salary: $12.00 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

  K( a1 q; }( C: u1 TCommunity Initiatives Documenter
The CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

* o: y) ]7 i: R) w3 ZEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

2 m, k; Q# s  M* l( NQualifications:
# b: m. e( ]& C3 h* d' p1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
- Z2 F9 N0 c" B# e3 u/ P7 s3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
& S, `1 x$ ^# O3 j6 [9 r4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
