22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
9 M. A3 v0 P3 Eprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
cleanliness and order in the bar.

* N1 \; O: G! ]DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
5 o9 T6 H' X4 o1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
beverage items.

2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
bar and debit floats.

7 L! G; B. e3 W9 k+ t+ R! g( z1 f  U3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
  S; [1 \* b: P! keach shift, and upon closing.

1 U. k+ T, f* ^: g5 z2 |4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
) y* _( E- w( nseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

' l  D5 A- ]7 ]7 s  O# c5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
: ?. t6 p0 e8 N( \high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
; o* i- r) {# _# |0 MAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
- i- J1 C! @6 q7 S# x0 T" t7 ESenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

/ S9 V# W3 N) D& ]" TQUALIFICATIONS:
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

9 J8 v% {# f% S, M/ D2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
operation.

3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
accordance with Students' Union policy.

4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
. s# x8 R  o& g* i, AUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
# v" v/ l8 B4 b* `3 }! Lattitude.


Union position
Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
