7 r8 w7 [  e0 l( vJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
6 H+ x! T# \# Z4 S9 M# _$ c" _Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
cleanliness and order in the bar.

- w8 M5 X3 z, Y- a2 bDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
) u# y3 w9 _' n2 c  Y% H) ]! `1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
beverage items.

/ G: @% Z  ~9 f2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
1 E+ R( K% I$ Hbar and debit floats.
; Z3 }0 Y6 G. ?& p
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
each shift, and upon closing.

4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
1 B6 Z: j8 V# h9 {, c: |% C2 O+ xattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
  O$ }4 j. o( u2 E# g  {seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

% i* w9 k2 t; y9 N/ q- \& W6 n: y5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
; o" [1 f4 a, L' cproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.
& Z% v6 o$ C  E8 A6 U9 B
& z" p- B3 v0 n, ~4 h6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
  o9 L7 x2 e0 B; [+ Maccordance with Students' Union policies.

$ {1 J1 a9 `& M" R7 D: B, {: }2 A7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
' k; @- `" Z% c. d& H) t0 {8 uhigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

2 C9 `: {- h& A5 p9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
2 W0 `- G6 P6 W, M( O' A1 f( }) L9 ~- USenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
+ j; e- Y0 E+ ~7 H1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
: u8 `! Y/ a  M* G2 \. d
/ [6 K2 _& Y; X( E0 r/ |# r2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
operation.

3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
accordance with Students' Union policy.

1 n' v! K& `( d, a4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.
+ A; D5 V( S) h0 B3 }( l0 }
8 }& q0 }% s' \- T5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
& z" K% ?- l) e, m1 M6 lattitude.

Union position
Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
1 b3 A! }$ {0 J* w, I4 h2 Zpurchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
