3 W- U: d# J' J0 B# W5 {% _11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
$ H) {" W" k0 `/ N5 CBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
$ \) N8 @4 ~1 i# @8 X1 }carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
2 i3 k0 u* }! X, x: l! S' Dcustomer service and room cleanliness.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
& Y: z* j0 T# O6 ?1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.
" }9 j5 P) V' m: O4 I& J
2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
+ n0 z% C; t$ i& }accordance with Students' Union policies.
8 ?! A) }2 ^) Y( \& p8 q
2 c3 ^) x5 b- V/ b; n/ k5 M3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
5 K* z! ]) M# I5 z) C7 Dincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
8 F- C: c. \  ?" F5 Tand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.
: ]/ g" V: p" Q# m$ a0 X( a. Z6 r+ D
3 a; E% k) {  C  C5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
2 z5 O$ O' l3 a1 a& f+ P' Jaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
! j0 V: ?* N" r) T6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.
! q( K1 s  U* D5 G6 n
7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.

* y, M/ |4 v2 C2 BQUALIFICATIONS;
( I, B) k. C7 n7 T  S' r1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2 G1 T: W0 ~. v2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
2 B9 g+ y) M1 c# r8 L( Loperation.
7 w5 b7 L8 V0 m3 c
3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
: u& F% Q  u" }) zpolicy.
; O  W; F0 k  B
4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

1 C& G  t. j; V% ?5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
$ }! P: H  k! t( I, _$ m5 ^/ fprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
