currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

( X7 ~) U7 ]4 c* I" UHours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
7 f+ t* \2 @% n+ Y8 [- q( U- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
. A7 \: X6 t; [- v: [the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
6 _- H- s0 r3 q3 `0 Q( dCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
; H' P1 N& p1 O0 \' Xetc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
% A) L2 F+ B. V. p0 \& Htheir program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
$ {, T+ Q4 b0 uassisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
  X) y  q, c0 ^# \, y( zoutings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
: s& C2 h4 M1 k+ p+ t% T8 Zfunctions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
* u; a$ k+ ?6 Jsuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

) s, X3 W+ a5 S/ FQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
( d* o0 |- I, h% ]8 k2 Tdemonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those

skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,

- b  X( R( ^7 N3 p6 }experience coordinating group activities an asset.
