The University of Alberta - Centre for International Business Studies is
currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
. {: [6 J' T0 z, T2 Hpay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
" {/ u: |( Y; y+ k9 B$ |the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

1 F( N+ l. S" O4 Q, P; iDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
CIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
: t; S3 K& p( T% M- L$ M% T  eetc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
3 q# ?7 d0 G9 @- E' L! Ioutings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
6 t* y8 \1 M" b, b  J4 w0 g; X' Lexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
/ b# f2 g+ ]% G) F8 Dfunctions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
/ i% f0 x+ S" I2 J- V8 Y- H: x: E& dpresentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
/ j+ `6 `5 H3 `9 z' Ddemonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
  j4 a8 o+ p' y. |& E' }# Ba variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
( O# A. Q$ I+ f  Sexperience coordinating group activities an asset.
