The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
, R8 z9 Y/ v9 h& nfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
5 B$ }8 l, v/ }5 W9 _* Ninclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.
4 M6 M5 h5 d6 V4 A# ~7 }9 j
2 }% y; k+ m; \3 }3 f9 ZQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
2 f' t+ I7 Y& rseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
. R+ [2 {8 T  n/ g. Z! ?and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
