Location: Research Data Centre, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta
Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)
, B2 d. X( v% MEmployment Tenure: Part-time/Causal (approximately 12 hours per week). The incumbent’s
schedule should be reasonably flexible.

5 b! I) l. e6 B9 BStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
2 ]. R7 w& {/ f$ \, |! zweekend hours.
. x; S* g/ y- {2 O/ v; O3 OYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
) _  _2 Y/ S5 y) Y% ^lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
5 A! E" o1 W  Ncentre.
, r7 @8 A0 U# H7 zThese responsibilities include:
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
; W) u) U4 w9 Y: V* ?; _-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
' ~3 v6 y9 O7 wfacilities’ maintenance, etc.
: s; F7 m8 E! \' k8 W-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
clients’ files etc.
& {* ~  H4 G& p# c# C" o/ J5 QStatement of Qualifications
Education:
! [- p+ b; }" y" ~% ~* Q# s4 {3 S-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
  X# t3 Y1 x% V% Iof education, training and /or experience.
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
- T/ W2 b6 W6 i0 F$ _-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
4 h7 O8 Q' c1 Rand Excel.
-Experience using and updating an information database.
8 s4 Q, C) F3 f' Z" h% O
  n, w/ F( Z' x! ?& BAssets:
( J$ A" J6 |4 ]6 k1 e( K1 K-Experience in using MS Access.
' k( q# |. s4 B, {9 ]. F; w" e  g-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA
& l9 v8 x0 J- E/ _% AAbilities:
-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
0 Z+ C/ R: ]$ }* {6 w9 N1 A% t-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
) P2 V9 C: d4 k0 L9 f-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Personal suitability: Dependable, detail orientated, discrete, thorough, effective interpersonal
