Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and0 y _ u$ f. l& w" T) O
weekend hours.
! o: X/ r4 c* S0 G4 T) W1 i/ F4 b- f/ wYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer( L& G7 l1 h$ G! {0 I
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
4 |" D% }$ s% ~* W/ T9 w+ ?centre.1 Z6 X7 m5 F y7 ]9 B* y" s
These responsibilities include:
# u) I; K. V; P: T6 ^: h-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC. ^! Z! h0 B: a2 ^ |8 L
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
( D8 l: l* a( J) `. u-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
' D2 m: |3 k- h$ A2 crenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 5 o! l: z8 n- h. N$ {" d
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
) S9 W/ `- _9 N. U' g" Z3 _-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic - i ~ L8 F% m5 d# R. C- x+ i; s- @
clients’ files etc. # I. {9 }3 H/ U9 s! o6 h+ z
Statement of Qualifications

-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, w3 K+ k2 N5 p
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination & H2 J( T$ l" u5 p5 J; t
of education, training and /or experience.
- t( H' @5 k: o# b2 \Knowledge/Technical competencies:
2 a# Z( A% _' u" K-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.+ G$ @0 L; c3 L! [/ [9 X
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
8 J$ J$ ?7 ^$ S! v/ Q0 Cand Excel. : t& W6 C/ b& z
-Experience using and updating an information database.

-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA
