Job description
! o. D0 z1 e3 e, J, eStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and. U1 S' l/ _+ O e; q- t, q
weekend hours.
7 W( q7 [" G1 u2 E; n8 ^0 ^6 qYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
) ^7 ]+ c2 M! f6 Ulab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
% Y6 u9 }! J& d- w! ]% Ocentre.
# _; j1 r* @4 `These responsibilities include:
, ]6 e6 o: s, p1 P& \% [-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
. y4 G6 g; z" \8 r-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.6 P/ a1 U' ]4 n# ^7 I5 C$ U& `
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
2 G6 ^3 J. T' z8 X+ prenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
1 ]' }' ~1 V8 l! A- n; }; Wfacilities’ maintenance, etc. & W- ?' N% Y# L) H
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic ; G) p* z! e6 e1 O

Education:
: a( H8 v: P U; W2 u-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, 6 d8 l& |# S& {. s6 Q1 D
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination 7 {2 s. L0 f/ a; J, h4 W
of education, training and /or experience. 4 S8 y1 [+ |4 u1 O4 g
Knowledge/Technical competencies:9 V- G" B% l3 `* _
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
% @2 ]2 f# m6 S8 Y/ O0 n-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
8 z, Z* ] V; j( Y: p7 Uand Excel. ; ^+ h* z, ?; W/ j
-Experience using and updating an information database.

-Experience in using MS Access. E2 G5 Q( j8 k& f) R6 p

-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
