Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
! K' |5 B3 i( h- g, @weekend hours.
- J2 x; S! T# u' @2 b1 K3 zYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer h6 a! t: O$ B, U V+ Q7 I
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the4 P4 A% k) ^1 n$ D7 p2 x1 C9 [' J7 a9 v
centre.5 e `& e1 H* W. O( c. T
These responsibilities include:
8 `6 d* t; I; L+ V7 b0 j) f-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.( Y4 D3 G& U$ c/ P
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.: {' X2 J) ?$ _6 K, @
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
( |* X% h# r6 L( I2 H& e) E, @5 Xrenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to ' r4 T; M( ^2 j/ p. ] Z
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
; K* |4 k1 D# x U8 ~/ l-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic * p3 z% S) R1 I' r, t4 h

Education:
* V; h( |8 U1 B( _5 j( m3 l! a: w1 c-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
- v4 B; M3 ]7 \" i4 S8 Z5 f' v, v" Reducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
8 u1 T& g/ q4 B8 a9 H& S: _$ eof education, training and /or experience. 6 R1 t7 F, G9 s; Q
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
& X3 s' D+ c4 A* i# X( y-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
4 K; J" G& u/ v0 I7 n-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
+ P6 T7 n8 y7 T2 Dand Excel. + o' k# Q6 h& W- v$ L4 g' J
-Experience using and updating an information database.
+ T6 B" k7 ?3 Q4 g: T, J) Z) g4 q% ^# U# T. H. Q, a* d6 n8 P$ ~

-Experience in using MS Access.5 W) R T# B, z& I8 K/ s+ b
-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
