8 ?, O$ J2 c: Q' {+ n9 @No one was injured after a brush fire tore through a section of Edmonton's river valley on Friday night.3 v( n3 ]4 J3 J* N( ^* Q
The fire started around 11 p.m. near the Wolf Willow and Rio Terrace neighbourhoods in the west end of the city.
3 U# D: T9 S/ Z$ `Edmonton Fire Rescue spokeswoman Sarah Meffen said 17 fire trucks were called to fight the fire. It was declared under control at 1:20 a.m., and was officially out at 3:20 a.m.: L U( w4 Z w6 |3 F5 i6 s
The fire covered a large area of the ravine, Meffen said, but none of the nearby homes were evacuated.
