When an employer terminates employment

An employer must give an employee whose employment is being terminated written termination
6 ]. ?: s# V- ]! ]; a$ x4 K9 dnotice of at least:

- G0 ?( x( k; l2 r5 X• one week for employment of more than 3 months, but less than 2 years;: x F. T9 }' O5 u$ q( N
• two weeks for employment of 2 years or more, but less than 4 years;

• five weeks for employment of 6 years or more, but less than 8 years;: C2 z8 d7 `* R: L
• six weeks for employment of 8 years or more, but less than 10 years; and

Some employees may be entitled to a greater notice period by the courts than the minimum
