Engineer report和home inspection是一回事吗

最近要买一个房子，因为房子属于在小山丘上地势是斜的，所以中介建议做个engineering report，但是他又说和home inspection不一样。
新手买房，求大神们指导一下，或者推荐一下分别做这两个项目的公司或个人

什么样的公司可以做engineer report? 朋友有没有推荐的？

Engineering report sounds like a geotechnical investigation to me, involving bore holes at your site.
% y! G. n7 `* P( z0 ySome builders do provide this report.  Engineers would use the bore holes information to recommend the type of foundation for a house.  Usually houses in here are on spread footings, but it is not uncommon that some of they are on piles where at the unstable soil conditions.

Engineer Report 重要的一部分是地基，和结构。

有的 inspector 考个证混饭吃。 好多东西都不懂。壁炉开关不敢碰，问其好使不，说不清楚。锅炉说年头

怕得罪realtor, 不按事实写报告，可能认为我们不懂英语。当我们指出后，说钱可以不要了。
