Job Description:         

JOB FUNCTIONS:

8 ]3 j, h9 }( G1 ]% [• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

. l4 X2 A$ H1 B• Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed by work orders.

• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

  X) L2 v0 m$ x8 P& b1 h• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

+ Q+ E$ h% x! n- C• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

6 C/ U1 k9 z- F$ C• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

& s+ z! C% u1 m$ `6 b• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

; M0 P, z, Y* H# j& b! N" }• Maintain current documentation of site status, complete trouble tickets, incident report and other required reports.

• Shift work, overtime, and 24 hour on-call support may be required on a regular rotational basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

4 P7 G4 m+ y* x7 C2 ~3 |• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.

5 C9 q/ J3 h% C; O6 j+ y+ b2 o-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.
