Drilling Engineer

' p( _+ A H0 s2 c) qReporting to the Team Lead for Drilling and completions, the Senior Drilling Engineer will perform all aspects of well design including; Casing and Tubing Design, Mud Systems, Fluid Hydraulics, Primary and Remedial Cementing, Specialized Technical Software for tubular design and effect improvements in drilling efficacy.) g) \( o& I% Y9 Q7 D; i

Must be proficient with technical software, specifically related to drilling engineering e.g. stresscheck ' ?0 S, t+ _ X! u0 w; t1 o
For each well, confirm casing/tubing stress analysis, mud/hydraulics programs, cementing program, collision avoidance criteria; p& y/ }. S$ y& |1 j7 L2 @" k
Prepare Drilling Program, Basis of Design, ADW and other special operations programs as required in the course of the operation
( P; w! W0 a3 N5 J2 ASteward to the recently implemented Well Delivery Model for Suncor including multi discipline peer reviews and post well reviews# W A' ^ E) {
Prepare End of Well Report which details cost analysis, operation analysis and provides recommendations for continuous improvement ' e- x$ f' G# y" C# X! J/ }
Prepare technical specifications to be used in tenders for materials, services and equipment used in the drilling operations
6 F4 H- V, P% r1 BStays abreast of current technology and Best Practices within and industry and recommend the application of new technology
5 [& R' K9 l( t" c% R, TPrepare management of change for drilling programs as needed
! A3 j0 k# Y. SCommunicate regularly with the cross discipline members of the NAO Team on progression, lessons learned cost and efficiency improvements as well as investigation on operational setbacks6 U9 B+ }# {) J4 V+ {6 G
Mentor junior staff9 E% u' K" ~2 Y: {1 b
Participate in cross company technical forums on drilling and completion technology4 h5 U0 L+ S( a8 D( r

The preferred candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA
( O' g2 B7 D5 p0 L& VMust be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel as well as casing design software such as Stresscheck or equivalent
8 |1 F% P3 u' [; U; y- }: NService company or oil company drilling or completions operations experience preferred9 x* Z1 E, Y% U+ Y
Field supervisor experience will be an asset- N2 m) v8 D/ W- F% G
