9 A5 A4 ?  v4 V- B: l; M7 y+ _5 f0 v. w6 K4 k  u. ~2 T# N( o
        1. I couldn't care less. & ~. M2 l) [3 @$ Q- A( \

I don''t care at all. 或 I don''t give a hoot. 例如:
9 t2 _1 Y; I* P1 A# M9 @2 }' V% N
' p, {" z# G: T3 ~/ d; [9 `. I5 }  人家如果问: What do you think of the budget-cut?(你对预算削减有何看法?)
; Q  E6 X2 L0 Y9 c
3 e& k; k/ w$ ~  你回答: I couldn't care less.(我毫不在乎)
8 h# a7 L; q- y5 t1 a" S5 f' F2 _8 o7 o6 p0 o9 v' Y  M
  How do you like Mr. Lee's political point of view?(你喜欢李先生的政见吗?)
5 A: h5 B* b! @8 Q3 F' V) p8 u/ B/ n- }( }* G0 l
  I couldn't care less.(我才不在乎呢!)   `9 v: M" ^% P
& R. y) r8 Z8 S
M( e! b" U- F$ N$ K$ T8 _

. s: k7 o! c- a/ ^  I couldn't care less about the promotion or pay raise.(我不在乎升级或加薪) 5 K! Z: o; p6 t9 h/ w1 p+ J9 V/ h

Yes, you do(care).
4 N! R5 h8 }2 S2 G* D7 H
* |- A* k: `5 j. w9 D5 m) z5 a  至于 I couldn't care more. 就是“我很在乎”(I care a lot.)或 I care deeply. 同理:
4 Y. u: z: |% ^; @4 V1 B$ Y7 x% Q
  I couldn't agree more.=I totally agree.(我完全同意)
" z1 e: ]  Q, G/ b  T$ o% z) p- ]  R
  I couldn't please you more.=I did my best to please you.(我尽量使你高兴) 6 h; N8 o. w, p$ x) F/ _

$ w+ [6 ~: F9 Z+ M  I couldn't be more right.=I am totally right.
! N* T" S( W% F, _8 G. o5 \  m' z6 Q) [6 x+ g
+ s8 b+ `  t7 l! G" o  v8 ?$ Q0 Y, _6 H& l
  I couldn't be more wrong.
# v( E% |. Y) L* q3 D) g5 e* g- R3 A# b2 N2 x2 ]0 h% V, {8 I. X# t, d2 Z
7 M& }. u/ s* @) [

! [6 W6 Z6 n8 s* O  不过,严格来说,I could care less. = I care to some degree.(care 的程度可能减少) / J$ i- ~) v/ a' `- X2 R5 H1 I7 E3 ]
* G6 T/ m; {0 h" C( E
  I could care more.=I care some.(care的程度也许增加)(主词可用任何人称代名词:he, she, you, we, they 等。但只用 could,不用 can。) ' a2 |, ~% I: _: e

5 ^$ V7 L( U4 {; J  2. No bones about it. 7 r( L8 w( j9 W0 Y
) F+ Y/ P5 t  }: \
  意思是:真实的,诚恳的(truly, sincerely or exactly),也就是 to make no bones about it.(bone 要加 s, it 是指 something)例如: # V4 P' Z5 \: b3 o, \9 V0 Y9 g

8 _% c/ R! o4 ~; W0 `2 s* d  His wife is beautiful;no bones about it.(他的太太真是很漂亮)
1 B6 l3 Z$ M5 }, [. D$ G/ `7 k
$ [6 L/ H4 G. `" I9 x; n, m/ k  Mr. A made no bones about it when he talked about abortion issue.(当 A 先生谈到堕胎问题时,他是诚恳的。) ' G% a2 D9 e; T  u: t

3 [) d8 G, \) \2 Q7 x9 v7 l( L  When I spoke on the topic,he said, "No bones about it."(也就是他同意我的看法)
' f% U9 W8 z' R  R* j; @  Z8 R" ]" E2 `1 H! O. f9 K% o
  No bones about it;the weather is very chilly today.(今天是真的太冷了) " i7 P, K& s6 o: d/ j& r

; j5 B7 U6 a9 q5 r% g* M  3. take it on me! . p: B2 z# {' Q$ N4 ~5 \# r; f
, `$ `" P& N% a1 K! {/ l" M
  意思是:“这是我的,请用吧!”“这是免费的”(help yourself to it; it is free),这多半是指吃的东西或一些不贵重的东西。例如:
! e  y. u' f1 a
2 ~8 i) d1 z: o6 {- K9 p# R  Here are some candies from England; take one on me. (one = candy) ( a. t2 h# L: Q
$ b- n  c( `# e0 V
  The restaurant owner said to me, "Take the dessert on me." + p/ G: Q# e0 ]; w: E- O/ U
) y+ Q# f: u, m* C
  Please take these pencils on me.(取用一些我的铅笔吧!)
- E/ V# T" U5 d9 Q4 e: O" ]1 X$ q9 p2 S9 C9 p
  (假如夫妇在一起,也可以说:Take it on us.)
& E9 ^2 v% A1 y
$ I9 f1 ?" u$ _. n" M  4. I am from Missouri. 7 V# Z, s7 V, g/ E7 ^
, O8 ?$ x( }5 D1 h3 V  \! V
  这句话有时后面要加一句:“I need to be shown.”或“You have got to show me.”,意思是 Missouri 州的人很固执 (stubborn),不太信任别人,一定要人家证明一下(prove it to me),所以密苏里州也被称为“The Show Me State”。
" n# |/ ^" f# w, R8 o9 F) h  k! ~' O( E9 _! `, C

+ m! y2 T* y1 o  He is not easily convinced because he is from Missouri. 4 k. ]6 }" c4 ]% h

' A+ ~, p4 E/ X1 Q. X! J/ |  Don''t try to fool me; I am from Missouri.(You have got to show me.) 9 q. q! A6 r4 h2 U8 @" b

7 F2 l) p: W) g  We are all from Missouri; we need to be shown. - ~$ u. s3 V8 O- W: G! s$ x1 b: O
* E, j+ w: O; T+ _6 _
  As Mr. Smith is a tough guy; he must be from Missouri. (Smith
