Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

( y8 a( {# J& l# }Responsibilities and Tasks& D# A% H8 ~) W# `

- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment / y4 C, B& o9 R; T2 L
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements& k5 o4 L; s% q3 y6 s( h
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
3 D/ K) s) _, L! K1 j: i3 I- Select type and size of pipe required3 h8 O6 N3 C/ \- _
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools2 k: [5 V1 J1 c4 }. d5 J- Z3 ~7 u! M8 C
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
( L+ O/ V. r4 a# `4 m2 K- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems7 j# [ x1 f! h2 W: U; z0 ~- S7 r) A
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
/ V8 M1 @9 W' G; V- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system0 m& H' z _7 t3 i
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system, V2 m3 E% ^1 _3 a* p$ u
- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
: j Y: ?) m! S4 u: Z J7 V- Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

9 q1 R: S' b& a5 Z# j- }) `2 h/ z- Completion of secondary school
, G$ T- g; E) k9 s( L% s- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation + a/ Z5 C" d/ A0 S0 a0 P8 h
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals4 T& `" F4 h- }! v( N; \
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
1 J2 d+ J1 m S( t3 K- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
# W; a2 J/ ~5 Q/ X- Safety tickets are considered an asset. P, }$ c* S0 _8 h3 `* Z
- Valid drivers’ license is an asset. U' b( E. V- Z
- Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
