Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

Responsibilities and Tasks

o" \, x& @% ?( c* W; X- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment 2 r8 N. |. r1 y. E4 C X3 b) S3 @
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements. z7 d0 r0 Q; z4 D, \
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines- ?' Z; m! \, }7 _
- Select type and size of pipe required
- N5 g: d7 C7 z Y* l4 F- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
/ ]5 x. \: \8 A+ t- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system$ d( E$ w8 X% U2 ^
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
* i; U' T2 a% Y% S1 ?8 c- Test system for leaks using testing equipment- N, i, B G! M
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
8 }: N0 T- B% I$ s' ?7 E/ Y- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system* c# l1 l( h7 j+ o6 q0 e6 y. _0 g
- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program5 I7 v$ z; I6 h! @" O7 |
- Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business3 v2 {8 p- w& A: Y+ j, c

- Completion of secondary school
# E& \% o `! O- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
! Q7 c* u% ]* ^- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset4 n0 g6 f1 e5 M

- Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset( i. x, S9 S# t6 ]: i* D
