Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor

Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

Responsibilities and Tasks
, C9 _( N+ B) s$ M3 d
  o" \, x& @% ?( c* W; X-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
- N5 g: d7 C7 z  Y* l4 F-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
/ ]5 x. \: \8 A+ t-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
* i; U' T2 a% Y% S1 ?8 c-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
8 }: N0 T- B% I$ s' ?7 E/ Y-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications

-        Completion of secondary school
# E& \% o  `! O-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
! Q7 c* u% ]* ^-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
4 q3 e4 f* @' `' m-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
