' e$ D5 l4 x/ L4 [/ t6 l. i/ a
% ?3 {3 ?3 ^& S7 _* _' l" \9 K- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment / v0 S2 k; k8 T5 u; o- O
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements% S" Q0 m- }8 ]" S" k: a9 k; v
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines3 U; t# `2 B# c o1 O
- Select type and size of pipe required+ I' ^8 ]6 ~' l" @
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools5 t+ n1 E, G; [6 Q# ^6 H
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
' }5 H# Q8 ^! G0 D- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems$ @2 T ^0 a' f+ H# k
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
1 C" b" d+ g8 g0 _+ p: i- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system

- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

& I/ V- n; v5 M9 M( s2 Y0 o
% Z- q6 J0 ]+ _ Y- Completion of secondary school
4 Y1 l! i& d. W# I+ P/ q3 S- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation , r- A: M# ^& ~; L$ h6 B' v
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
