Department: Fabrication Shop

  R6 d1 N# R2 O/ W9 tLocation: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

% H* Q$ p. V6 P) S# M
  s/ @5 [- @1 G) v% S7 z; y4 m-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
$ Q1 A, g! x9 G* _: u% G) p. `" x- @-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
9 q7 w* }  Y6 p-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
0 W2 u/ t, o& ]-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
) c! K- d- j, a, S7 w% @2 V-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
3 H0 u8 N# Q3 y& p-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business


- Z( g) I5 {, |! pRequired Qualifications

-        Completion of secondary school
' |8 m5 g, ?; q* g, R8 w-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
. V8 P, y7 q1 z$ a( q# F-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
8 g0 F" \) e* F4 c; t-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
! C$ M5 M: `4 d-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
6 ~5 O% Q5 a" H* ^. `: \) l, f+ p-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
* D( g2 _5 m, f/ U-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
