Job Description

Title: Pipefitter

Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

Responsibilities and Tasks

-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
& w: ^+ ~; z+ D) q-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
# \. A) z! d2 y-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
  ~% [. r7 `: m& d. X: q+ g2 P-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
# a  s, }& E& Q( M3 E+ h-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
  k) ^- P6 i* s/ ]# F( `-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

6 e6 x4 s* j; V6 j: |+ A  q-        Completion of secondary school
! N9 [2 `6 T; H, n6 Q* A-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
6 K6 r  Y4 s/ ?# X. O; O- g6 L4 i-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
1 K. _* \, w* Q& b, v3 K) |-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
: x* W% e+ A# F) \- D; V-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
