Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

( y8 a( {# J& l# }Responsibilities and Tasks

-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
3 D/ K) s) _, L! K1 j: i3 I-        Select type and size of pipe required
-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
( L+ O/ V. r4 a# `4 m2 K-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
/ V8 M1 @9 W' G; V-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

7 ^  f& r2 n$ L1 E7 WRequired Qualifications

9 q1 R: S' b& a5 Z# j- }) `2 h/ z-        Completion of secondary school
, G$ T- g; E) k9 s( L% s-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
1 J2 d+ J1 m  S( t3 K-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
# W; a2 J/ ~5 Q/ X-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
