Job Description

Anticipated Start Date: The candidate is required to work immediately

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

•        Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person; d% n5 B: C( c8 N* e
•        Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
8 |: G; [! P- j  m•        Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
7 d) j6 R- I, b% b: J•        Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
9 o# l+ S3 `$ Q. i  ~. O•        Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
- t! E1 l: B# Q  T' P•        Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker) H+ q+ X- i5 ~+ G+ c
•        Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events$ k. c( C- s9 b- s
•        Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
: k- s4 D9 m' c0 |, U, a•        Keep the reception area tidy and clean5 I) z! Z  @/ P8 G
•        Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
- X! c1 p8 `9 w, i& U: f•        Maintain front counter service files
& _/ H# y7 a/ h4 M, V' @•        Perform general office duties as assigned

/ l' ?2 v9 W( O; u) e•        Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
, o) i2 d7 A5 n# s; Y  ?•        Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset" G1 d) H# l) M* f  C* ]
•        Good English writing and oral communication skills) {8 L7 f: W, V1 {- V+ x2 i, o
•        Ability to work with newcomers and general clients$ Z$ {  O4 j4 C& D
•        Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
3 E6 q2 o+ z* c' \% Y9 K! |! V  d•        Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
  E8 \4 r# y6 |/ q) b2 x•        Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds5 }; U) f! p9 {5 N" A5 R
•        Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

Qualifications:* x! L" W3 K9 O; V; K, ?- [, t
•        2-4 years of office and clerical experience
  O. r8 n! h* B, l$ x•        Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
3 E9 `1 a! E' o, ]- e( I0 T•        Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism5 x( U# m. _  W& `
•        Ability to work well under minimal supervision
# H0 H, `/ i5 S! N" ]) y
