Position Title:  Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker5 ]- d! l5 \3 r! j8 a
Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)1 P4 w6 _3 |5 D
Anticipated Start Date: The candidate is required to work immediately

; B8 @8 x: q0 I* d; kPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. 3 ~) R) c7 v# a5 |3 q' ^

6 _! S. p* a; p# qKey Responsibilities:
7 t: i. {3 d. s8 V: B8 d: i8 c•        Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
1 \7 Q& S7 P! i1 j( m7 ?# h. w•        Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST* ?5 \  f2 V' t4 ~; G
•        Welcome clients and direct them appropriately/ ~1 v. A! n% f1 Z
•        Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
  p$ w! s5 q6 x% H! R3 W•        Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents2 ^% t/ Z3 x& k: O
•        Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
% f* V: w+ T' S  S•        Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
. V6 m" X$ i# {: Q•        Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
7 v' N  j- Q5 M* m! J% }0 c1 p•        Keep the reception area tidy and clean" v7 ~8 G/ A/ Y  a
•        Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
. C+ }: ^! o1 b6 K•        Maintain front counter service files( r" Z6 [+ z  k6 d" a
•        Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:' H* C$ Y4 B' V: |- V9 K
•        Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person& c% }; r- V& h; h
•        Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset2 @, H  K8 w& W' [
•        Good English writing and oral communication skills4 p+ I, u$ T- P$ {" g
•        Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
; x4 O% Q+ a4 D0 b7 v8 u•        Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook" r2 @$ t! K4 s8 H* Z
•        Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
! q3 J+ ]& V) }# U! ?$ f2 r) y•        Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds
  k$ h8 J7 _' V7 n$ C# X•        Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment
/ o7 r& ^- {) T7 s/ S+ ~" g- R•        Knowledge of immigrant services

Qualifications:5 i. a- R: e/ ]8 |
•        2-4 years of office and clerical experience
: Y8 R- W  F/ X" E0 `•        Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment- f4 A+ k/ D  I
•        Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism7 J) B' }1 T; o
•        Ability to work well under minimal supervision- Q% Z3 |4 o( C6 ^1 M
* ?) J. m( f% B; y" D$ u; a; u
