To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ) }1 _+ z' M& t9 @6 O8 W
0 r5 G0 a) W' I7 t8 `This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)$ t( u( g# |9 U: Z# Y

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
% ^& x1 r- q% x5 O; z• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
& J8 W+ D3 o# V2 o• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;4 {' V) p6 I4 r3 o5 j. d! d1 f
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
' Z2 ?# V9 [7 { ]7 {• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
2 @3 f6 s; T- V3 N( @- Q) {3 N8 l• Risk Management and succession planning;9 d: G+ k) z& j& {: _. U2 l( O1 c

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: 0 G1 q1 L+ |0 D; `# }
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;; k3 @3 o) ]8 n5 ?' K
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;1 \2 R! O; }6 P1 F2 {4 t
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
% j! }" c; x. O; U. l4 \• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
' B9 r1 o' ~3 u4 F! t• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;" T2 `! P4 a E8 ~
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
9 |8 U8 |( q8 Q4 Z1 H+ M/ K/ ~• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;% ]6 f2 N9 P" M) i$ U
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;% P* s' B# S2 O
Y6 k) G( n% L# x( l& _Qualifications:3 K) H K# X* b! I. E J
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;, N5 \. U, D* U7 w& N$ d
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
5 ^+ _) m; n6 X! G2 c• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; & }9 Y2 V+ \2 j* Z$ n4 n
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;; Z+ ^ p! ^7 e" u
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical. K4 m# i7 s( |
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;) g/ `6 A" d1 Y9 S( N" I
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;8 S; ~$ e# `- g7 z" z6 C- W) d
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
1 S. V$ u, u; g5 J& p- I• Current valid drivers license;
$ _. w1 C$ m: _, b: ^2 f• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;$ I9 a2 \- U% B& D7 U/ p
• Conflict resolution skills;6 P( ]( z4 l- n& [0 f1 d/ |
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
