Job Purpose:( H& ?5 X) V" e
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ; e3 |, s- |, p

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
1 K! o0 o! S- C! c0 Y4 R• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;1 E8 y r. j" v; j8 J2 z/ v% N
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;, [- k; r9 r% ?6 ]+ }1 J
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
7 o; w {/ r0 j• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; ! p: }; j' ~3 h' n0 X
• Risk Management and succession planning;' w2 B8 h1 H3 i- x% K) i; c3 `

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
* _& v! Y7 n6 c. w* b6 R• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
0 g; r4 m. R: D: c# L# J% i• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
2 e) B; `1 j3 Y' v4 i9 e8 n$ `" x: @" W• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;' e5 P* m& b. }6 ]3 x
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
3 z% M3 Q H& k% A5 C: H3 a• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
9 h D+ H5 @4 Y) y$ P: l' w0 G• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;! j& ?7 P$ A) o
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;- f1 m* D, Z" D$ ?7 B
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;% F3 W0 I' r6 u( ~2 w. ]$ y

Qualifications:' t' K- v! r/ _7 b. e' R$ u
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
3 L: _! t7 Q/ x' }$ o0 b$ [• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector; v0 s( @" O+ S
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 5 o( C7 G1 c2 ~' t& l' f" ^
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;5 t' o' q, L/ E6 T( ]
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
7 z* t, B$ s7 r3 f. C! V9 h8 _% U• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
& y3 P2 B5 ?: X# Q• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
$ G2 C" t8 E& Y' f6 r• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
' r+ e. P0 z9 h& d. y/ d# H6 s) i• Current valid drivers license;0 |# M, e0 i% C, m& x
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
( c2 m( J& H8 N• Conflict resolution skills;
2 t& _* x# D. I7 x2 D3 s7 X/ Z/ t/ \# F• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;. W3 j7 F: y2 Q: T5 v+ D5 E X" @ Q
