Key Responsibilities

1 [( ?* D' S- ~5 s- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers! P; e" ]. s- i! i3 r W/ s
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties

* C1 y! V, @5 ?) K7 i9 s- provide volunteers for various programs 3 w* O/ {/ t) V/ u, b
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
g3 Q& n( ~0 L$ t- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
* P5 Z6 p& I) Z1 b- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities! n0 K- g/ t# l2 M$ L
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
/ C$ u- i/ q" N9 z- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
* C& i# T" O! t; R2 K- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed7 b4 O8 _ Y# l( E$ X
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed. U5 R! U+ E$ {) ^" X6 x
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
7 K" q, m: a0 c3 y |5 B8 G8 s- Y- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events `( D O& w# _1 K ^ B
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
8 Q4 V" x5 Z! v5 t, ~' R$ \4 G- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
0 I4 v' d2 `' X; H( Q G, _* e8 Y- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
& v h" j0 w& O( |- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 0 x, T4 X! h0 u1 E- q
- evaluations

/ r# I+ k$ w6 I' ]4 DQualifications
5 f$ d0 @ e4 l4 `- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
7 y7 ], L' T) a b3 t- good oral and written Chinese and English skills2 m. L8 E6 e/ F& k* P9 P
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services; \4 h. Y/ t- \) j! x
- leadership skills. i. z9 B$ ^( X6 L3 \+ |+ _* h
- management and supervision skills
! @; Y. o, M: L- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills S/ |- N" j7 ~ n( C
