Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database3 ?% r' }/ h; z8 H
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers' Y5 _% C, ~% x: ^ A
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties$ ^6 `6 d: t, ]: j4 r
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
& n7 Q! w7 X5 I; D: s+ \- provide volunteers for various programs
4 M1 ?! K6 Q, b! D, P2 r. x! ?, _; r" W- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
; h9 z H! K6 u1 m: b( @6 M" I- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation2 _0 I2 L0 S; p% J7 V# K- \
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities5 G0 Z5 s# {# _+ \: E
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services$ E1 N1 y4 t% ]
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
; D& s/ P: Z1 k0 T& B4 e2 P4 T- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
+ o# j- M! S2 g7 X7 i4 E- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed+ F" i! ]0 T; r- T' d9 T# o! O
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
$ G/ O& A4 ~ s4 h- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events & k& m) o* @' n! @- K6 Z
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual , s5 I% H) b& j* I3 }2 z' r
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers . x8 F! Y( i( P3 z
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
' n0 ?# d! K: c6 T' {9 J! A- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis ! W+ h9 d* ?) ^/ r) ^
- evaluations / {# Q+ W9 n1 F) ]1 m! M
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre, Y+ t6 x. O0 t& z6 K2 y

# |8 F( k2 q- g3 m i2 ^/ L- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education* {6 `8 F" ~( R/ Q+ g8 @
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills1 {, l6 Y/ B: Z W. }' ^4 g
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
; f9 }# Y) g2 ~6 F5 a) h- leadership skills
+ t: s7 S: S- B3 W) Z% s- management and supervision skills
