Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- provide volunteers to update membership database
4 b3 I$ z8 g" D" b- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
. o( o% A: c( i6 p# m% Z- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
* n( R8 P( m1 E2 e3 i/ `8 x- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties3 a8 g4 I1 v# ~% H# ~% z& x. z& D2 x
- provide volunteers for various programs
- f3 q# j# Y2 z) S/ R5 C- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual! A$ p7 r1 y: S: r+ g! `
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
% N1 a ` W: F7 O+ x4 @- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
' W& E+ T5 A) q g4 S0 m1 v$ \+ z- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services* D6 x9 B" a" s/ ]
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
3 i; Y+ o) F7 E" J: X/ w! r0 J* ]- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
1 G3 V0 t/ l% V8 E- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed1 j9 U' @& Z% c r4 V' f# ^
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required): q) y$ `- s# D+ m% Z* ?% G
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events / J5 {, t: \/ w0 a/ a
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual ( t. O/ N0 y& f; j, w7 p. M
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers + J D, J. a$ X1 y! n6 i
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
8 Y- y' [5 Y4 k7 ?- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 6 N+ n# b1 s) A" T6 m% s+ n
- evaluations 4 ?1 ?) K3 P7 O3 U- Q7 L3 l: f$ I
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre% f F0 `1 d: D1 C

' ^6 C4 I8 N* {; X. h3 `- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education( b0 _: u8 ?; u5 X8 t! j7 ?6 P
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
- q4 R( U$ Y6 ]9 U- X2 K. p9 l- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services

- management and supervision skills3 \# Z. |2 D5 u: r: N1 @3 L
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills( b+ P# h$ F- D5 q+ @! J
