Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

- provide volunteers to update membership database
# Q% M7 h/ M* N C* ~- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers) ^; ^) v# A! o. B
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
5 p5 U! J8 H2 U- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
. X" u# {0 U* z6 l6 T1 y( h- provide volunteers for various programs
/ d% c: x' y* m ~9 D! M% Q- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
. X0 \, u2 {7 g# a Q2 l2 T, v9 ]- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation* H6 r* E) B6 L7 E% v# v) {2 q7 I
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
- y+ {2 m0 Y$ @9 h* B3 t- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services$ q \/ i1 R# I2 W6 y
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
* I) C8 y( \- o: H( p( D8 d- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
G) V: Z- ~: C0 c7 A* ?5 X! R( l- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed3 y% O- v) {$ n4 Y0 e7 d
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
$ m$ p* v" h; L0 \7 t. `% y8 ~6 ]- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 4 P2 F( U4 x: y; C- t+ i# z3 z: F
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 8 _+ ] l2 a0 u# z1 Y
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
! H. \" F* T: Y4 Z" }2 s- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
# `, R$ Y' d) j" j7 F- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications0 w- R! f% ]3 g: [) e! ~ W/ |
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education0 u ?9 u @4 H/ D
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills$ K" S# h$ H- \9 c% K. M9 f. N
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services- X$ \/ ^" c" [, Z
- leadership skills6 s! a' c6 ^1 U2 T
- management and supervision skills
