Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

Position Summary:
, X" l d/ T+ `5 CWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
8 n1 C% H; m6 U3 w3 @( N2 M• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person/ h& r: v$ P1 F# [$ B$ N
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
: a9 E6 G# l; p7 M8 M' e• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
# I3 D0 V' |: [5 X( A( g• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter: Q4 n H* B+ H; E0 N+ |+ w
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
, r3 N6 e3 S! f• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker+ @; d8 y z: q+ Z T& _
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
$ Z: y, ~' s* s3 n# m- }: r• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
( D+ y1 g1 d4 Z& p7 C• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
9 B! B! ]+ `* y/ b* E• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
, u C, J+ a* X$ C% e5 ?• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person$ k2 g4 F4 H: o; u& w
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
$ R0 }2 C, Z* F! F• Good English writing and oral communication skills: F. O% q; ?- |& H+ R
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients# H" B( o. d. m
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook# A4 e; K2 d' h2 E
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately ) J) w( k" \" |; T5 a% G2 O
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds* X F$ |: T: W% n8 F7 N. P4 U
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment6 j6 c/ w4 d' ~% c# R4 a
• Knowledge of immigrant services

: Y+ }4 ]0 Q5 o2 }/ F; u" y• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience 4 X+ t) l4 M; f/ L" O
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
+ }2 ~5 ^1 f6 G+ J• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
; k g6 o* X0 \• Ability to work well under minimal supervision& j4 i3 }$ K' [- X* t1 Q8 I
