Speed and power, without compromise. That’s how I’d sum up my impression

within a body that boasts revolutionary technological advances. The 3D color
) w- r' U! m! y8 o4 ymatrix metering III, wide dynamic range and the improved AF performance& e- W4 E" Z2 p! d7 E3 e3 h) |
in low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D800/ _: ]7 ~7 l3 o3 H+ }6 i
allows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject

( }2 R/ i) O* Uwas traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum
( e5 l0 f: o- p8 C vimage quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was1 N4 r* K! l9 w5 L( V1 r4 L
widely accepted that image quality was compromised in lieu of speed and
! Y0 d2 s y# C0 X' o1 j, j0 qconvenience. Now, my wedding portraiture will have a depth it’s never shown
$ [& G/ A$ h! U$ N: I+ mbefore, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,

' J# m% T- M+ `% m% fWhen I’m shooting beauty and jewelry in the studio or fashion on location,

range, color rendering and the final print. The detail from the D800 produces

Autofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor
% U o9 B6 |$ T- ^2 O" r5 phas noticeable improvements in metering accuracy, while the larger LCD is
0 E) V; ^7 N: r7 Peasier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while
* H# @1 H( F, @+ F5 N. Salso feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New
! d6 y7 B @0 a- M6 b" Jcameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features
~) N2 q' N- A7 J# n2 Z7 @in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality* w$ m2 a2 x; ~4 Z8 m5 E
prints and video.
: I! |7 Y8 P5 H9 a o* t7 ITo me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is$ I/ c) q7 N9 S( [* S
not megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models" j/ E* {7 O* C8 ?! I4 p
are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using
. Z4 n" g4 i% L- T) L* n8 N% Qcountless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first
8 s8 K% g- v" x% ?$ psight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws

am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as

tremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the
k" ^& d0 p/ S: K% M/ nD800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express

As a modern architectural photographer I am always looking for a lightweight,0 K8 @- S, y/ S7 I6 `2 U
compact and reliable camera system fulfilling the requirements of my personal2 K& F9 H3 [/ m8 F2 u
artistic and client expectations. The Nikon D800 will set new standards for

now. Particularly, the live view mode enables extremely precise compositions
+ n6 b/ ^' B z2 H: \4 i* kand easy focusing in dim lighting, which simplifies my workflow. Superior! z R5 z. E$ Z' r3 x. }0 f$ I
quality lenses such as the PC NIKKOR tilt & shift lineup are indispensable for
4 M" @) f a( S; `& g3 |8 ]architectural photography. From my hands-on experience I found that they+ R" M. A- m* t) O. {4 h& X
perfectly match with the newly invented system and produce breathtakingly
' s! ]6 \7 V- J0 M! [4 H( ^ |clean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility# |& v7 }5 ^# ^8 Q8 @% f2 G/ g9 t8 |
to work at unusual shooting locations and capture images in an exceptional% b2 \/ K, \( R+ K& L0 [
range of light. It definitely takes my photographic versatility and image quality
