In general, key aspects of the role are:
-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
. L$ ]% H' V% b3 dtechnology;
9 X' l$ {5 H! J-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
$ Q3 \. Y% b: ^4 ?-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
( H4 G. b+ v- ?-        Participate in peer reviews;
-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
-        Programming planned enhancements;
. r! T) A$ X& S( u/ s! ?' F+ N-        Testing system changes;
-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
; k. e6 ]& B7 m$ ?department’s change management processes;
-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
7 J/ t. x# Z0 n3 V1 {-        Lead short term projects;
-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
-        Excellent written communication skills;
4 b. C$ G6 o$ C  `6 @+ a% ^-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
effective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.

A. Mandatory Requirements
(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
  x( o+ B  P4 R/ xfor incorporating new technology.

( V8 B% O1 S1 d5 t& @(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

/ K$ D# h7 H, W(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

' @: }. I! E/ f6 W2 g: s(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

/ w& M) _, v* x' g( V(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

B. Desirable Requirements
' c4 q! }4 g6 W2 U% P8 f(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- f5 h9 v: R2 P5 ^7 |  J, X6 D- Infragistics controls
- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET
- Nunit
- Crystal Reports
- Pdflib

: d9 a! U. I$ p# r- B. W! P(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
1 ~# j. H! e3 ]2 l0 h+ }; w- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
2 _6 _! X, ?4 `7 `" p) ~$ }4 [3 [- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
