Job Description:
+ c9 b4 z: ~' _- a. c, q• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed7 i8 i) D) L" b& d& q$ E; B
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
6 N4 U; h) b6 n$ l" y• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers o% q# q& H+ \" J5 {- ]
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
( l$ R, c$ }+ c( b' j• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place; _# M$ h# Z z, v- @9 d) I
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment$ E% f# D. |, J8 c& r: A# T& D3 ~
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
; i$ T8 |! K, \1 K+ F6 R5 H b• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
' Z. S& I1 a6 n1 W• Mix paint, blend and match colors' t: c0 T! @/ k
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns7 Y8 c8 z% C5 V9 h1 [
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
. q$ N! d4 `1 S9 p# J/ b• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation! R! h( N$ |2 m* l- C# S
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of secondary school is required. C" i, u. |- A, ~
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program
) I& O1 Z; y8 G1 J, [: S ?; M" | S# dor& J) V6 d/ M4 A$ @% P/ f; b% h
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
9 Z+ [& O# [4 F+ D- O2 P# Q" Q$ v; e• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
