Identify and evaluate strategic technologies that are beneficial in enhancing storage and backup infrastructure services

3 K0 _5 ~6 E8 `) OProvide secondary triage of client issues and problems that have been escalated from the Service Desk

/ g6 Z" k3 f4 B$ a! P% _Install and configure NetApp  Data OnTap, HP EVA Storage Array hardware, HP Tape Backup products, CommVault Backup software, Legato NetWorker Backup software (Legacy) and various other appliances

Working with other OSS team members to identify, plan, and configure Solaris, HPUX, Linux and Windows servers for integration into the Storage and Backup environment

Manage applications that support the Storage and Backup infrastructure, including  CommVault, Legato NetWorker, DPM, Quest, and other custom applications

" ?5 l  {% v% A% T1 Z8 p+ zImplement and support vendor and industry best practices and procedures for the storage and backup environments

. a/ q" b& h5 e1 W' y  [Provide recommendations and design strategies to improve the operation of the environment based on analysis, trending and forecasting

% ]' |- z) r1 Y; k5 cDesign and implement processes and procedures to improve the operation of the environment.

, ]4 r8 ~' h3 L& d, @5 T7 P( C0 W8 iWrite and maintain Perl / shell scripts for day to day administration and automation

Provide after hours support for  business critical systems  
Qualifications  
: d1 a& V( N0 @' R4 G0 D A degree or diploma in Computing Science or Computer Engineering or a related Information Technology discipline
% J6 d7 c! `$ @7 M, k: T7 a2 [
3 ^  a6 q" W9 a( b% QExcellent working knowledge of SAN topologies and technologies with a primary emphasis on NetApp data OnTap, HP EVA storage arrays and Brocade switches.Previous experience managing a SAN with the above technologies is mandatory
6 K# _  f! V4 v* p& g% G4 H' m0 d( Z
/ j$ i* g2 p" N* y. dExcellent working knowledge of CommVault Simpana 8 or higher,  Legato NetWorker backup software
9 b  }: \3 p) u8 x' m/ i
0 G! F1 X  E9 q2 n5 l( a7 RExcellent working knowledge of storage virtualization technologies and concepts

% @0 o4 T/ m  O) ~" ]# f  Z# RPrevious experience with administration of Solaris, HPUX, Linux, and/or Windows would be an asset

: M; H5 M- j! R' m: r6 ~. V# DExcellent verbal and written communication skills with experience communicating effectively with various levels of management

A high level understanding of IT technical infrastructure requirements for large enterprise deployments

' J3 p, W1 ^, m5 C% J  ]3 zAbility to interpret business drivers and translate into technical solutions

2 [8 |  w7 U$ l% _! F  pThorough understanding of Information Technology business practices and processes, including ITIL

  M+ D7 _. P$ i: XAbility to excel in a self-directed environment

& c8 K. D2 h& W2 T! a6 J6 GExperience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Visio, is an asset

Valid driver's license with a clean drivers abstract

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
