Identify and evaluate strategic technologies that are beneficial in enhancing storage and backup infrastructure services
) |. s% y9 F; m8 [: x/ M- f3 n& l( Z
Provide secondary triage of client issues and problems that have been escalated from the Service Desk

7 q  t6 D0 h# q( G: L* ZInstall and configure NetApp  Data OnTap, HP EVA Storage Array hardware, HP Tape Backup products, CommVault Backup software, Legato NetWorker Backup software (Legacy) and various other appliances

+ @4 ?7 w4 R. V2 mWorking with other OSS team members to identify, plan, and configure Solaris, HPUX, Linux and Windows servers for integration into the Storage and Backup environment

0 N1 |! h8 ?$ M* A4 V) l: gManage applications that support the Storage and Backup infrastructure, including  CommVault, Legato NetWorker, DPM, Quest, and other custom applications

; l: N- ]$ u5 M" Y3 c) D* ?Implement and support vendor and industry best practices and procedures for the storage and backup environments
) B# k; W! G7 f, p
Provide recommendations and design strategies to improve the operation of the environment based on analysis, trending and forecasting

4 d# Q5 {/ f9 ~) A& c# G$ w! TDesign and implement processes and procedures to improve the operation of the environment.
) E! H! K; V- a9 W0 Z/ h$ C5 g
* i3 }' L2 s, `Write and maintain Perl / shell scripts for day to day administration and automation

Liaising with IT customers to determine their requirements and ensure that business needs are effectively translated into solutions

3 {1 g, o! o/ f7 q5 _& K; a9 qProvide after hours support for  business critical systems  
1 @5 @! T% h- i6 W Qualifications  
3 Q$ Y- L. F% i# F. b A degree or diploma in Computing Science or Computer Engineering or a related Information Technology discipline

2 S; P2 K& o( y' HExcellent working knowledge of SAN topologies and technologies with a primary emphasis on NetApp data OnTap, HP EVA storage arrays and Brocade switches.Previous experience managing a SAN with the above technologies is mandatory

# ^3 O& f+ s8 m2 A9 x: oExcellent working knowledge of CommVault Simpana 8 or higher,  Legato NetWorker backup software

. r9 B8 G- U- A/ xExcellent working knowledge of storage virtualization technologies and concepts

Previous experience with administration of Solaris, HPUX, Linux, and/or Windows would be an asset

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience communicating effectively with various levels of management

8 X3 o' ?0 h  h2 mAbility to interpret business drivers and translate into technical solutions

# }( X6 A# @0 h: c. W1 v- H1 sThorough understanding of Information Technology business practices and processes, including ITIL

Ability to excel in a self-directed environment

6 t& o) n* G, T' @8 Y: QExperience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Visio, is an asset

Valid driver's license with a clean drivers abstract

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
