Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

u0 [& ?! {9 F8 |7 E& O( m• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
) y- _" T, t3 d4 x d• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST u7 ^; Y5 @* |1 F6 T H
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
( F3 J5 C9 u* I2 Z( \& A4 I7 r• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter4 I8 D! U% |) m5 Q
• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings
, h* Z" E7 l8 @9 Z2 ?; |• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
0 y( X' ]6 h' ?% a' c* F5 l• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker9 L& {6 Y/ q$ |! ^# W
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
0 `: i7 }8 m ]+ F• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events y$ G6 \+ n/ ~ }+ A$ _- Z
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean8 T$ E% i* q) w! C
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters' D H1 f2 V( g
• Maintain front counter service files$ U! W+ @$ a1 o! R+ R2 T# M/ V
• Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:, A- ]8 m- y+ B1 M/ r2 \" S
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
5 t# ~- J/ A( g/ w• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
. d& \; Y* O p• Good English writing and oral communication skills
. ^8 _6 j/ D1 H• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients$ b3 N4 j" j& Q3 G5 D( z
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
. u, Z# i a+ k! }• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
# d. z0 H2 r6 \4 l4 u• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds( o" M7 g1 O, @, q ?: C6 `# U
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment9 t3 X" J: ~' ^: l$ y1 I9 a
• Knowledge of immigrant services, Z W3 V S( X. ?* d
Qualifications:- o0 J0 x7 {' N6 ]4 z
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
6 e1 b$ |1 t' V' B• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
4 R0 e5 V; h2 Z& D" z+ y3 n! Z; d• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
\3 V) K8 G2 d3 c• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
