  V) y1 T) ?/ z, L$ R/ KYOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
& a0 J0 {1 E$ N  e5 R& N: bnine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
, g, u( h9 D/ k4 n' ppeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded
+ P* |2 L0 X  E8 R. S# A
- W$ s+ w7 e0 Hproject that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
The goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
6 l) T6 C4 {! R2 Z1 |& pthe skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
% v, B" w3 Y1 p: U9 o% tparticipants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
follow-up once the program is completed.

' e4 b6 Z) C& \% I4 @3 qVerto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the
0 ~6 D6 Y1 `( f8 V4 @* J$ CYOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
