YOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
: j+ u. I. V* a. u, d5 W2 _6 [nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
+ a/ z3 n* z4 r$ H% Z6 R) F: }1 kpeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded
: A$ I7 R  K0 ^' s" B- L# p
project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
+ N0 V# ~& M& {  V9 cThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
the skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
% k& k/ z3 Q2 }0 {4 ufollow-up once the program is completed.

Verto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the
# g7 x$ w+ r8 n7 vYOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
