YOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and

nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to Q1 A1 w) K9 W4 ^# {7 y2 g
peacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.0 K n6 j# K# ?
The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

$ z4 L7 N9 V. Yproject that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased5 Z" B! d* V l+ Q! W/ Q
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
8 @4 A- n3 b1 g/ r, RThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining, C0 q1 |1 ?$ K( {
the skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose) C9 S1 Y: b: [8 G4 O2 O
participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
8 _4 g) B$ D: m5 k# jpersonal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
: H/ l8 N# X' |$ {Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,' g- `& M- Y* s$ ]7 T5 L
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
& |8 B2 {; J0 u6 G8 c& d* ]follow-up once the program is completed.

YOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
