SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. 2 W1 z4 I9 I$ m' K& h/ z9 c2 Q& r
SEDI is staffed to:
* \' k. i7 M% A2 w Z; p• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
- v+ w& b/ c1 W! O1 T• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
2 _, x: H9 n% }( A• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation " b3 Y5 J9 G: v a9 l
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
7 V3 \: L* }/ V5 D9 W6 s# ?• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits

Primary Responsibilities and Activities: 0 z! r! _ }2 U+ o' B% f7 _) D
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
; Z: R0 {# T+ Y8 A• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
( _2 k/ k8 q K% E• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
& u; Y/ Y) \" R: q8 `7 W• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
4 ^- B% r# H+ k$ m( E5 k& S• Working with evaluation and management information systems team 8 N" H1 \: ?6 f7 Y8 d& ?) K
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required . \1 ^8 J0 R) v0 \
Other Activities:0 @; A( C4 C# U9 H% g+ c4 g5 x7 R
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies / ~; B( i8 N# e$ K
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
$ Y8 V- S3 C9 W6 _2 X$ i• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
/ {7 Y! y2 R/ t• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports 0 k% @8 P2 d2 e( t' `: @7 d- ?
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning 3 R0 a# K6 U+ b
Primary Qualifications: " u0 {$ M# {7 h3 b9 U) {9 x! ]
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
! u1 {$ v |9 Q4 c$ f( G• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media & h3 r; [5 p* `7 W' H Q3 k# g8 q
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training ' U+ q% [2 V' j% s7 S
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities " S: L- ~" j. Q0 M
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
$ Y+ \8 Q* c% h' q• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals
: D$ C0 ~! t" g E• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
- Z& F7 f6 g$ i2 M7 U* `9 }• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them {" [2 Y2 w% I1 W9 x
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
# e! i, Q: l0 C) ]; h1 m* ^# Z• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.

• Policy research skill set is an asset
