In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada. x. L2 a) s8 p( T! A2 m

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
; |6 d' c0 D$ Q- g; mSEDI is staffed to:
2 K T: k; L- D( B! W8 L- s' M• conduct socio-economic market and policy research 6 H& W3 X G, r& Z
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners 1 r2 u( t3 P1 E& S, T
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation 4 ]9 r% H* i* U' O( c- H
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs . c/ M* R7 h5 s% s% u1 B
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
3 n8 I0 I# C# A" q% f4 g• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses - I" c1 u7 M, d2 b: J4 K/ `* ^
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
. i Y( u& k) GPrimary Responsibilities and Activities:
& x! l% E9 A1 p5 ^: x: ] l" L• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
7 s, V+ [- w4 A& L% d• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
& Z! I/ o) `+ K3 q+ L& h+ D8 m• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required ) ]* E) k; A% G; f
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities ; o& O& C/ {, D ]& M
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
4 U& d7 C6 Q+ Q• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required {( S b9 T. B7 b# }

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
( o# H# g1 u z% P7 n: s: Y• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners # m0 e/ K: Q. w
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting * Y: z1 ]# c/ ]# ?) A9 e- S
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
: H0 i' ^: Z, a0 d. {) t& M0 J% b" h• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
) D: L7 T% ?7 C4 k$ K( i• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
$ R/ U4 {+ g8 K/ J6 w• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
) O) M/ T* F3 r; j• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
3 R* G! w# e* O) T4 w8 t• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams : ]' }4 L1 A$ z" C6 X' G
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals ! l6 k L4 D. S! ?( t/ F3 P7 e
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts ' t+ o& E6 D) f
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them " u' ^4 B% F5 r5 P- F
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc x. Q" N# C9 \) K. Y; |' @% _4 \
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education 0 ]: h% u3 N! e# m( Q
• Content / curriculum development experience $ V% I8 G# r2 M( {
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners

6 U5 p0 `3 [) Z4 Z• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
