In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.0 T3 i3 i$ S8 V! P- B6 d

4 ?# q1 l W' n+ }SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.

9 i& |- _" ]% v. O f• conduct socio-economic market and policy research " E5 \8 S8 h6 q8 E, D# |) t
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
! ]' h1 m+ N6 q' |$ U9 j• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
9 l0 T# t9 H, {7 r0 u+ r% ~; N5 _• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 8 T+ v0 @/ q% \* k: z$ g' d- `" H
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 5 w" O! x, o7 K

) t; J; t( G& b6 A8 nPrimary Responsibilities and Activities: : h) W. h8 r4 g( r, r
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 8 @- u; q) X& |# D0 }# a
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) 4 C2 i6 o! x/ f0 S
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required $ \: B/ l _- B2 K! L* i
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
. }3 J4 Y i: C• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
+ N/ f' f8 N8 m& K8 ~! D) v8 G" Z0 |• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies 8 M" V; j7 S3 G+ u S
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners * C+ X' ~0 A9 ?+ F' R* e. _
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
# t: Z7 i' n O; i• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports & M1 c# x1 q1 \- k9 d5 K6 v
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning " b2 Q. i6 Z+ b% C8 o
Primary Qualifications:
0 I/ m3 x5 V- H/ C+ F• Demonstrated group facilitation experience , S9 Y- N% s3 i; o! l+ {( y
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media 1 f1 Q% t" _; M0 f, D3 N* T- f9 u0 N
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
, z, A* r/ ?* Z3 X5 ~( T• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities ; r/ m5 i; _9 {: i9 r
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
/ P4 A: m" L" f+ [• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals

O! c2 G7 L- f4 P• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc ' e( s& @& h7 e5 S! z
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education C$ P+ Y- z- |' c, w+ b
• Content / curriculum development experience
* v+ J) E! G8 G1 d• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners ' E% V2 k, U$ r. `/ \' Q4 z
• Excellent organizational skills 3 v7 z9 K& g g8 n: U O
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
3 h: t C+ [: ^7 [ e• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
