SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
# [; r! B* h; D# F# S% H8 x( z* ?SEDI is staffed to:
2 {8 {- x u' X: S- F$ j3 p3 ]! q• conduct socio-economic market and policy research : R- p( t/ ]5 Q9 h) l
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners 1 v/ F1 u- k" Y, D, I, _8 A Z
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation & O3 T, o9 r5 k' o( k
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs : U8 l2 p% F4 Y1 Y4 B0 `
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
: u* S0 m t( E- X& U: s& ]. X• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses
, f# x& n o% ]( h' ?• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
2 d X4 w6 u' ?: U: D) zPrimary Responsibilities and Activities:
/ d3 X7 h- y# L, U+ c1 ^7 B$ n# F2 v• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 0 G! ^' r+ J e! M% Y
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
8 T# V, q, k3 g& P• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required ) ]5 a. \' N9 \; j
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
! O" i! @" S4 V• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
; y+ v) [8 h( H; r3 Y; W$ f$ X• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

3 }3 h" e$ i. r* c( {# L8 s' C& h• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies ) `3 `% [& J ~3 k' _+ @( L
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners ; V, Z0 i0 ]. p. R& L- ]/ t
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting . U5 V& x4 f+ q x3 J9 `
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
$ h8 E8 k4 d% o; @1 ~6 P- t7 Y+ z• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning
! t0 E' l$ t5 i# E2 GPrimary Qualifications:
5 A% D2 E- O: }% f5 D2 e3 e• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
1 D' q* }* S- v# U! |: Y• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media # f. ?% H* t* E$ V+ `) B% v
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 4 g( P8 _. [7 @
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities 2 b }8 k0 M& v; r1 I6 V5 l
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
+ z& k+ D, C1 ^; ?6 Y• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals $ {, j; [" M7 \% e4 T. p
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
3 p3 t! G! S2 z- f5 y0 M• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them # V9 v; Q( W, S8 K+ ?
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
+ l$ J+ `8 ]1 D$ y• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education , y8 x* V3 y9 t. v
• Content / curriculum development experience
+ T$ Z9 u5 ?2 M; Y% E6 [• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
$ e; V3 }; l9 ?) M• Excellent organizational skills
! N" ?, Z0 ]4 K5 Q l• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. 5 S6 m4 T1 \8 }
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
; p1 z. Y: h L• Policy research skill set is an asset ! I6 B+ W s6 J# p' e
• Marketing and communication experience an asset
