In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.2 b$ D) m: [2 M7 b. C8 e+ r B5 N! t$ C

( B, D7 M0 e/ {• conduct socio-economic market and policy research ( S3 C- S3 y3 C0 n- Y0 R
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
0 F) d5 O/ `/ m0 {, j• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
5 }" {: P9 A) I! j8 c3 `* K$ O$ Q• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 1 b( J) I2 K( }. C
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
4 _3 M9 d+ q' F• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
/ e, p5 k+ b6 e7 J• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada ( s; F' Q, J: |/ a$ O
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
5 ?" ^' n; p9 F5 @% w' f/ b |• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required / Y/ h4 T0 l+ ?
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
& C; m" A% p6 Y2 x" s2 D) a• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
7 d2 t2 q8 O: c* ~) I/ X o5 t& K• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies ! j& S. _" y' P' t* C$ `
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
' y( Z+ s' w' x" i• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting , g! p& i" _% H0 O# z1 j5 X
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
. V& S, q9 n* L% ?- n7 t• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning & }0 @ R, | g* l, [6 N2 b
Primary Qualifications:
' N% l# E( r3 S2 t• Demonstrated group facilitation experience 1 g6 ^ H; P0 {' |/ h# i
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media 9 N2 N2 V: K8 i, d/ D/ G, ~
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training - B7 c3 ~$ Y5 G% b
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities / P% e, s/ a6 j5 N
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams - P6 r% M; a# `
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals ( O* S; E3 g+ L3 _4 Z I
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts * G) o5 t# m3 Z! u! @5 Y3 \
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them * m& a* H; X# K p& |, J s
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners & h9 R' y; J8 g0 K
• Excellent organizational skills ! y, _- I* E, }0 Q9 j
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
