Job Description
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
$ }% N8 B, X& k% t+ U- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
/ c9 y; P: G! A3 g8 b-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
- provide support to ISP staff
$ N8 w6 o' l1 X8 B0 K4 H% ?" K- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
! z9 k; A+ ^' n& }- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

Qualifications
" [) V0 z4 H7 \% m, Z1 Y- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
6 I# q0 {. w# M% v$ `& A+ a- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
0 j3 I; _# y6 ?! b6 X- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
- good interpersonal and people skills
- good organizational and coordination skills
2 T4 r0 ]; Q2 o) g: P- valid driver’s license

- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Salary
- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
