The Engineers and Technologists Integration Program (ETIP) involves a

The Alberta economy has a high demand for skilled workers in the

Alberta is home to many foreign-educated immigrant engineers. These
) I2 a4 z$ M, ~" B5 Uimmigrants are highly educated and experienced, yet many may find it6 f* k$ ~9 H# {- g9 _' [$ ~
difficult to integrate into the Alberta workforce. Some employers may not' w1 _' {* ?% W5 [8 v6 `; n
recognize their international experience or credentials.

experience and competency-based training, such as applied academics or

The training components of ETIP assist participants in developing skills

• job search and job management skills

What is the evidence of success?
' U+ t z' y4 zAs of 2003, more than 80% of ETIP graduates over the past six years have3 r9 C# A8 h/ a. Q
found engineering or engineering technologist employment in Alberta.) C4 d4 I( T- [" y
In 2004, 46 engineers graduated from the ETIP program. At the time of
R. z5 l3 `- a: Mgraduation, almost half had secured employment in the engineering industry,
, a" ~" a7 [8 [$ o) }# U, b- O; Zwith over 90% employed at three months post-graduation.4 S4 B% t' n, J* ]- x% ~
