05年至07年短短的三年期间，一向以提倡所谓Family Value，反对堕胎，同性恋，安乐
死和干细胞研究而深受广大右翼保守派基督徒和穆斯林选民青睐的美国共和党高层人物

议题上持右翼保守立场，自身同性恋但是伪装成异性恋和异性结婚，为了政治目的公开

在丑闻暴露后仍然百般抵赖，最终身败名裂。

years, Jim West supported several anti-gay bills, including one that would

9 J, }( @$ _2 m2 _regretted voting for those measures.[1] In 1995, when West was a state
senator, he advocated the impeachment of then-Gov. Mike Lowry for alleged
4 r& H; {4 ?" f, m8 ?! x/ v! g; \- A- zsexual harassment.

% [$ ?* N  F% }8 _1 z1 g- r9 I" |/ i7 AWest was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually
abusing two young boys in the 1970s and 1980s when he was a sheriff's deputy
( H, w7 `% _2 l5 fand Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
* a  r# B, d8 `' @to lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation
. E' Y4 {4 c% O' G5 d7 D8 g% T1 Nallegations "flat lies". However he admitted to having private online
relationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

6 Z. y, ~% o8 qWest confirmed the accusations of meeting men over the Internet but denied
the charges that he had sought out minors (see[4]). Using the name "Right-
2 B1 J# s8 ?1 A. E0 `BiGuy" he allegedly offered internships to young gay men (some of whom were
5 D) W! ^# q% ]1 R9 ]0 e; Ujust graduating from high school - none of whom, however, under the age of
% k2 K( [& L& R18.

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical
preacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the

- h! S% N- B; |% b" pColorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
# u1 ^9 f) Y2 V7 U8 V+ L' sleader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until
November 2006.

positions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
* o5 T% y! Q: T9 Jsex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
* m7 e6 N7 h; n" h, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual
, G; q% h5 v+ D/ A8 ximmorality" to his list of confessions.[2]

7 }2 y! z3 d; w2 _counseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
ministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
! \, L& k) U4 B( [4 lRalph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
8 ^0 O1 w3 i- \  Q( J; Qembrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
8 ?5 \; J6 X$ H4 s" F' E7 Creceive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

On January 23, 2009, officials from Haggard's former church announced that a
young male church member had come forward in 2006 and that there was an "
overwhelming pool of evidence [of an] inappropriate, consensual sexual

0 {1 n  v, v6 b% J" p4 y. }wasn't a one-time act."[76] Haggard's successor, Brady Boyd, said the church
( o$ a$ m4 n& T" kreached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
the time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
and this is not about "opening new wounds" it's about a much larger issue.[
