( o) a1 C( a; A Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
! K; K' J/ ^% ~0 H7 [% x Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
) A+ _8 o% ?, U# N& K+ a Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
3 ]2 x- y* {' I Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
; A0 b# \0 y" f. p2 M Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
5 q, Y4 H$ x; a% ~* p Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
& t4 C0 W4 e  D( i9 q" C Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
1 p' P  t3 l5 U9 A Current RSW designation preferred   
7 q' l0 [0 G$ c2 }; W+ G Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
9 P" Z+ p8 k' R4 Q) _ Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
" C" H( ]" Q; S$ t# m* ?3 k5 { Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
6 z6 Y, U0 w1 |/ T* @ Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
