* L0 k4 M' {# V# N Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
8 t+ J# O  k6 E4 l5 P6 R& C Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
2 g3 B0 r2 G3 Y& g' X9 k: C5 c Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
( A3 x6 L4 k2 W5 X Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
5 ]; D2 Z2 t4 |9 d. @ Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
0 G, c0 \) Z) J5 l Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
$ e( y+ l/ P' L$ v4 ] Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
; E! v2 G, H; }4 [0 m- A Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
0 u" O- B; u# X/ C4 t% [8 P Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
# _3 D( j3 y# L6 o. S Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
