Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
* W( B: W7 ]8 N+ X: m8 ] Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
  U6 `$ @4 E# I8 |" g Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
3 ?6 r4 N0 x3 i1 X4 O Current RSW designation preferred   
  B9 J! G+ C6 y, q* x Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
, ^  u+ {* ?; O; }3 r Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
) Q6 l; s% g) H* X Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
5 ~/ Q$ e+ P1 J Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
