Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
/ R( I, O# Q0 \ Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
4 n2 W1 E3 Y2 c8 e Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
$ E: h- ]' a0 [+ m% O Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
4 s! b6 E+ i# c& b8 e8 N- b Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
+ E4 L* ?$ g' B# p5 b Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
( v3 ?- o! ?7 [  E, e9 P& b Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
# b, b8 d$ [/ x4 l Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
