0 X( O; N3 y) R) gDelivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items
. s4 } a4 v5 k( p. Y {Obtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments
/ T5 t5 x* _, d, \Ensures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound
/ }: R9 `! n" _. m, @Prioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead
3 X$ Z7 G% @2 V8 K, W9 s5 nOperates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions
: X" w4 G Z6 y. l, yPerforms related duties as required+ a/ l0 s1 o6 f! g- h1 H
Qualifications
& o' ]9 O8 O/ P3 O* f R: GValid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.# n2 u. R4 g) _5 j* j+ V% W
High School diploma; previous driving experience required! V& ^3 H o1 ?+ k2 V( f
Current certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification7 b5 V" s! h# ~& t$ s
Training related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials
( @& a. w+ M# ]- x$ cAbility to operate equipment including forklift, power-jack, pallet-jack, Johnson bar. z6 u* X! b( E+ {
