Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
( L% G! r# X" i. @, @: G% y- h Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
3 u6 C% r% L2 l9 c- T" P8 R! g Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
9 s2 l1 p. g1 U' n$ P Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
2 h. b/ {8 B: k Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
; |5 A( ]+ m2 Y7 F- M3 v Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
# U! ]! H" }+ D Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

9 e) G3 j& U& A* g3 ] Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
: N7 h/ J' b5 R. K Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
