Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
: J+ O- o" I) A( ]( N1 { Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
! N8 p$ a: T- {9 |. D Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
$ `# F! S4 ^0 M Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
# M2 Q; x0 a) x! B% B Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
4 u+ z6 J- U/ v; Y/ Y Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
+ x# ?% v6 D  c: O% z! r) x. V! Z# ~ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
3 y' t9 R$ [' l+ U) F' Z' B
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
& k7 `& X' R8 G: n, j( O6 Q3 [& a- U Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
& }; R' W( A7 b3 W) E Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

0 Y5 K. ?4 |, O1 cThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
