Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- ]! P/ G  c6 i4 F% W/ I0 U6 W# r
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
# [% y) |! u& w5 E3 ?5 B7 U$ b Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
2 b6 b$ \+ F# ]2 { Completing required paperwork.
3 w2 k- n# X- D- n% _- ]5 C0 J Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
9 K/ g$ S" ?* f% j: c8 ^! q Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
. k) c+ r  J, L' S# y Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
2 b' t5 ~/ B' J% T3 d; c3 `( M6 z Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
" R& d! r! E. P" t5 U3 C
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
; L/ G5 [$ E0 q4 p' L* B8 } Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
* z5 S1 c& R3 B9 J" ` Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
6 d7 \% L" Z' y9 g% u! w  l1 uThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
