The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. • Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
7 E+ [( K: L& i$ o% p, r• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
- q; I, M8 D) P2 s' j• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
0 O# K. l. W% y [7 X! V1 w• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
/ L* N, [* I U1 k6 [$ ~• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
F% r, ?, y- @% o: [• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.. |6 s& y( l6 c5 p( C
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development./ C( {& e* j/ H5 c/ A
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities$ _/ `1 R; B5 {* l% d
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
) ]# ?* u9 \# c% b• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO( A8 M% r4 T: k7 i
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

% X( \" y4 j: u( @# hADMINISTRATION, Z0 k( }1 U* B* o' i6 I! U
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
* e- b/ P2 | { Z4 p% j• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
$ L. M" f h+ Z& h# \• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
: r6 T5 X$ e! G6 M0 k) _• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
) u: Q. \. x4 A4 U, H5 R8 v• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
9 N* @, M, B. _8 r( V• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required i4 \" T/ U: V! u# r% t6 r# [

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
, Z& D! ]' _! K. M• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers3 v. C/ E! y0 C+ q. d! \- V
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)" c0 V* F; C o9 Z
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate # m) H0 `3 _ ~' J7 U
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

6 M) J. F7 Q; n! d% s7 s" h• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
8 b+ V8 f4 }' g• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability* x0 y; o7 }8 t8 n( z* J2 ~
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
# q1 R; b& Y6 H+ R, C( _# k• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
* x" V9 K0 ~$ L" P( x1 E• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
( i" H& d% J- j; ~$ S7 s• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects |+ ^3 \4 F$ T9 r- Y
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
