The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

9 Z) v! s1 f0 b7 V• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.& Y9 o* `( e5 ~" ?5 V7 u2 t" L4 L' o
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
( u# H: W+ Q" c6 z9 a• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge4 O2 c/ z/ \! F/ g! Q% z
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.4 _7 I; x7 f" K( K p" N8 \
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
+ g( ^0 B5 A5 ~$ c- f9 V+ D• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
8 w$ P5 u) R s• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
- H% x: O# f; b• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities/ }5 ^" V* v& {4 I7 w
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required" J$ i) M* i* \9 p" |- g; t7 N) K

1 I" W7 _) I" Y) S$ b. q' P- @% A• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
% D1 {4 N3 l& W9 H9 _2 P/ t: o• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position2 U* \3 m6 O, Z. R9 e
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
$ b2 `# j# |7 d; V8 ?4 w4 V• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
' n P4 D& F2 @• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department3 U! Y5 x- @4 s0 }
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required , I ]8 z7 |0 ?! s5 D- _# c1 F$ Q
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
$ ~& p6 W6 H' H+ Y$ T! ]• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

FINANCE; s, m1 e$ W4 ]
• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
/ n5 ~4 t# _6 b• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
" r2 r5 x7 R" y- b) |8 l• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
+ F; Y% ]& Q# K0 }" n: l* k Z• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)& V2 d z+ h. Z0 O" p
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate * L: h1 a9 ~8 P& r( W4 X
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination+ }1 O+ U! ~5 \2 P
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
. z7 h- k1 O' L! B3 `• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills" c$ y) j0 ^; g" @
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills * \5 h% z3 z4 F# q! D0 p
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
3 B( b6 m' A, B4 j• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects * ?; \% L$ G7 _
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
