The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

5 W2 i$ o8 j; `" d b6 K5 |• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
. I" j. s! t ^, p+ I• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
) A# ^8 f+ m# ]' S6 U/ M, h• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge8 g ~/ w! p5 g3 O
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
' G }) k5 {! m/ {9 P$ I9 o0 e/ n1 B/ ~• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
$ }# ~1 n7 f! R, s/ ~3 W* Y• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
% J q" a. H' b/ D( K/ ^+ O* K• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required+ ?5 ^# f7 t0 E0 M5 W0 I

/ {9 @' A0 i& Y2 e: w• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
) d1 x, {" [9 V9 x- N" P+ z• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position

• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate$ ?/ g7 h* m9 {4 N+ v! m8 [0 L
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
5 M3 r2 c1 |5 T' n" R# U+ P• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 4 d3 h8 g, p, E" Q5 O% b
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency. d2 B- x4 S4 O) x5 e
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
6 E6 `: T# a- F) h; Q5 k7 v• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
1 m7 {5 F9 X& j& S2 g' g• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS1 X, v% }3 [) u @0 F
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers( t, N4 c- G4 F, A+ F
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)" {: @$ Z5 b. S, @( _; |: w, {
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate

Qualifications:: J! m K# d9 [+ D2 c P! v
3 y: j h' N; F0 V• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination) X2 Q( r. z$ Y7 ], U/ P+ j0 j( a
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability+ e$ m2 F7 Q6 ^
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
/ h; f2 ^6 T4 C. F) B• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills , h& i: B% N' X% b% ^5 x( o" h9 E
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure

• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
