The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.& I/ W8 h8 S# S2 r: e- t. C

& g& E9 q* C3 s8 g6 e# p; H4 lOPERATIONS
x. d* h2 ^8 }6 _: k• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
9 N" T7 \- K0 N9 ~. a• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.9 C) T$ e1 c5 I+ e3 w
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge G6 c( s9 F- e/ W
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
* _' v7 a7 n5 q• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
( H( U$ \8 }0 _; q- ~* K$ {+ f• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

& U2 X x* v/ M4 C3 b3 D7 W& v• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities) @2 v! z- h$ j+ U6 s0 v
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required" A3 M. W# {3 h- }4 `

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO0 M# o& Z& A* l! J, y
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION8 B3 k: W' Z# r% g$ e- S: F
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position' o3 |% k7 ]) F' }1 W, ~
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation( w5 G6 R; S" R) Z3 y; w
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
( L' |. A; D/ ~" b% u$ R* Y: J• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department- N F2 z/ X$ @. ]. {$ P8 X' Y3 E
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required / k; T! W! F0 L6 W& s6 }
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency( }8 Q- E! z: h; U9 U% {6 P
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
+ j, G3 m: F# y" H1 f: i+ Q• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

/ i- W. R- ~7 T1 n F, W• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances1 h: `+ e8 ~! Y- I
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS3 L9 g+ r k9 ~# q. I
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
. g2 |) H3 I/ u$ t% V• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
& h+ a. R% A, `9 B' X• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
Y- H+ H( B7 K8 o• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
% z! t" l4 f" X) {; J8 t7 t) _• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability

• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills & s% D: ]3 j# t: n
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
! q7 k4 W, K& n4 t9 K; H3 T• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
