The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

+ s. j1 B7 Q$ K" E. JOPERATIONS
0 x$ H3 s5 {4 X8 x2 z8 F• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
s7 I! b9 F4 @3 z5 ~- T9 Z• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
4 ?+ p: W% z% G! e& |( t• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge1 }+ Y9 z9 B @
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.$ m+ s( D5 `) n, k1 P3 }
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
8 z5 G% g( M+ i% g* j: r• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
3 _0 \: E% b. V0 }* t. I6 \* F• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
6 u% x6 L/ y# ^# _! I4 S. ]• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities# b2 d1 M0 D+ h2 |$ l
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

! a* e" o" n* V+ d( T• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
5 t/ ~& @$ q) S• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up U5 G. N) F P0 i2 c

ADMINISTRATION
+ T/ Z# ~# \6 _5 K, Y' ]• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
7 {, f' S) g) D8 B• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
$ |1 C( O# x! h• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate+ N( e3 ^- `+ @. |0 H
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department! m* \1 S/ q* m
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
' _! }" f f5 V$ R; r. w• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency; G9 Z7 [4 t; p& f! I. S1 K
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
) N% Y$ s7 D0 s# e0 R* g• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE

• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required
# N% s1 d+ h1 a" `' [6 ]6 w3 p/ [" ^+ x) u
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
& |4 a3 M6 k0 }7 H5 \# U• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
4 ^7 E! j( P* P/ ^• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
* v& C6 o$ r) N7 B# S• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ) i4 q; ^; Z6 I( a+ k# X- m8 \
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required" a5 T( l4 I6 ~$ e

Qualifications:& x( Y1 @" g& n8 F1 [! X
% S+ }, }9 Y' s* z, p8 p• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination. b& y* G* _) g$ k; Y
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
6 o5 ] y7 z5 w2 Z5 U& B• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills* g, c, k9 n9 c' w- E1 N
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
& T+ P- F" z* |• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
0 m8 S" z4 Y' n4 U" M6 L• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
* t! W _& ~+ H0 e• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
