The ECT button (which stands for "Electronically Controlled Transmission")
5 e4 }: @- q3 B/ g1 ?changes the shift points for the automatic transmission.  When engaged,
" C/ y4 V+ @) V; c: L+ tthe transmission shifts later, allowing the engine to get to a higher
( P! h; J, s. F9 ^  {power level and accelerate faster.  Gas mileage is usually reduced in
this mode.  Use it when you need to get up to speed faster; for example,
0 E! V% t4 s6 n1 d+ x' `# ~to merge into fast moving traffic.  The normal position for this switch
4 t! e1 F7 B" v* D! B% \4 iis OFF.
