Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

Major Responsibilities:
: W" z v2 E) g6 f& k0 q• Process research equipment design;
5 J5 C* ~ N* K& @: S• Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;$ T% e) t% ^& }6 E @& ^+ f: a
• Equipment fabrication guidance;
G9 _) l% k" M0 ^1 c• Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
! Q) E1 f. i% ~2 v* H: M• Others.

Qualifications:/ ~ m( T7 o8 K$ _
• Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months. # {" k; w3 |% s j$ _; |
• Equipment design experience is required;2 D' L/ Q6 q% a4 ^3 a
• Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
& V, @# V+ ]2 V9 u( }• Familiar with CAD software;
" J2 i/ H" T1 J6 a( M• Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
' i, Y7 P5 \; S- p. l2 X• Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Compensation:
6 z& K. m2 P* P) E% z. M0 ISuccessful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term. 6 v- N: g# |$ i- U5 _% V
