Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:
  ?3 n, T1 j) F  O- u+ Z* j•        Process research equipment design;
•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
/ x, C  f  ~, A; [•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
6 t2 J7 Q+ X5 q5 v9 C- i' p9 r& r•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
•        Others.

* C/ |! E- o. W5 K, V8 {/ o$ ~•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
•        Equipment design experience is required;
' c% x0 Q, @, z4 T•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
8 m4 B$ g! O- M9 t8 v+ i$ Z9 z; ~•        Familiar with CAD software;
•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
' x  X, k' a0 L9 [- f1 D•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

5 _' P/ O; p0 n4 f& o3 BCompensation:
, c+ v& [- |; H( [: `0 M& i7 r2 WSuccessful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
