Key Responsibilities & Duties:

& ~4 X$ U/ D2 M+ ~# s0 F Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
2 ?  ^0 O6 }& C0 s, I0 ? Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
  t7 o) x6 {0 L' Z2 F  z9 R. L Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
- w! R, R5 F* x' l9 K5 H- | Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
5 A$ H% X: T9 J2 b Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
7 e0 y! }7 Z2 ]$ R% n/ m Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:

1 j" {- O3 i9 j! D# U  F, p7 ] Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
6 z( o8 u! G" O' ^1 R Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
) G- |9 I' q  d4 A- t Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
% S9 r* u; t8 c9 c* Y5 s1 uThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
7 U/ T# k5 `* U; c7 _starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
