Key Responsibilities & Duties:

! k$ h" O; S5 d; B0 V% J Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
9 p" N# S5 L6 y" r4 f" m3 q0 H! } Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
$ k  Y) z9 Y; V6 r) B1 k Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
; U; g6 m8 p; _& r9 Q/ t) }; c' a Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
' r4 w1 a! A! Y7 Z9 ?# K9 H Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
" S5 |% c, G8 x, E Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

5 n$ M2 K+ p6 n: } Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
) N, Y2 y  a* {1 x Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
1 @# I  {' k) X+ |4 x. W Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
* t! W* y2 ^& ~) w8 J Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
/ ^( h/ E* V4 f( J, Z: s! p Knowledge of community resources.
+ {. j8 L* r) z0 t( x0 H$ _ Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
! R1 a5 V! F: N& f# p2 V. A& a Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.
) U# k4 Z6 ^% M; n$ _, k4 v
- H; f1 q% Q7 {' g2 Z4 ZPosition:
- K0 C# v( z. QThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
