Key Responsibilities & Duties:
# e3 {2 Y( E& X- _" w
9 D5 t, U( H4 M) C, W Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
! N9 T+ Z' w% M+ u; n Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
: K% H7 C2 M+ z) B" K6 R  I Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
4 P$ X* v6 q& C+ E- v Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
# E/ s9 U+ Z: ?. [6 i( b Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
  w3 K! {6 `! ~6 Y1 g Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
- P- o. i" c6 Y- d) _$ j( Q Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
$ L- G* {; p; m. G# k; Q3 M0 p7 \  L Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
, v* e+ Z$ ^* L) J% }2 R Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
0 j, M; {, {. e+ @: ~; I Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
- }1 |9 r% \9 R+ A Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
" h* W8 J! D% |+ L2 A: ]2 W. AThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
, x  a8 W, s8 i1 g, zstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
