% G/ K8 x, {& H* i+ n& |# pEssential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.9 Y8 D2 [+ S b

Under the direction of the Program Manager you will:

: c' ]7 a. q4 |- f% |Recruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.( k1 w5 O9 b5 q8 v) R- w
; x- W7 f* H* b" s; D5 F. g1 zTraining – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.: d4 Z& e4 ^! f# I* ^$ i

Organize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion.& [$ j3 D/ e7 G/ V+ e
8 K! c0 Y1 R0 o; d5 P* O* E/ dNetworking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.4 l/ j1 u0 W& P9 L7 }
* N ~+ ]% ?# c& T, f8 ]Professional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.3 Z2 r$ u' { e8 Z) ]6 W7 S& E* q, M
. n* H# ` ]5 K; w: XProposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators.
