3 D0 `. `6 m0 Z( R" J* NAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

6 J4 }4 [1 j7 V; g2 ~• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
' C2 y$ Z: W4 [* ^• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
$ H8 K% E- y& z' s  J. t8 f+ D• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

5 L% }; _5 x$ e7 C& D  k• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
1 X" Z! q6 e% w" d. L# I! p5 u• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
2 O$ u" Q$ G4 P5 f  P& B7 H• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
, J. u2 Z$ K) K: J) r# l! P7 I* j• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
  h6 B5 ^9 g$ R" x• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
. l  Y2 p2 I. L+ H6 t. v• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
$ R# B, C6 S! [% C7 e# C8 l4 q5 D• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
& Y3 [$ E! g, ~• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
