9 u$ S7 S; Y3 P7 e  t- JAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

  b* U0 q$ w( [6 GDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
5 ~2 _' _$ }# C- `+ QEnterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
6 Y  k0 ?, N6 a! O& _8 L3 {• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

+ w1 K4 F' _* g4 W( l• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
( l' J7 f  C! i• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
9 w# K; l! S! O& i1 U  k2 N• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
& y1 A) R* O( E& r3 I• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
; I* Z, _7 O- y1 a& m$ D" v• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

7 d& i7 A3 C: mSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
; E+ k9 V  \, S* O2 _• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
8 Y  S, ], X- |2 e• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
5 e7 i3 @; t5 D/ ?) x• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
/ Q% @! h7 ^3 J' n' k• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
  r  i3 q/ F1 [- i1 j• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
- g8 i; W: j- |; ~0 P• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
4 _6 @( T& H8 T- K4 z/ ?• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
- M# u& R7 U3 h# X$ _& A3 a! x, T• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
