As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

0 m9 c  G+ K4 b3 R7 V8 a  x9 ~• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
$ @) o) \3 q. ~( g• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
* {5 @# {2 g" C: f3 F' ]6 u• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
; b* N! C: g; C. k4 G! E• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
! Z' v/ n# \! h! a: A" B4 ?8 T9 L• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
# X0 i& Q9 l; Q% W1 E( }; e% t. Z• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
5 e2 [8 c: j" M% W. c• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
1 v  D, x& x9 i. c; D• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
+ P' V) p+ S1 }4 t• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
1 ], H+ A7 l. `# B! o• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
/ F9 x# B8 s! z: g) |/ p• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
