! L: Y0 G" @! `# |As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

8 h5 {# ?9 {9 f! f• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
% ?5 W6 w, l: R6 D7 b• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
( ?* U# I8 ]3 f% q' |7 n, B• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
- Z- d# V/ f& L0 C0 P• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

" |: @) T3 h. T5 |$ XSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
( I# y$ H& [: N. Y• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
" |9 O" k  J6 h4 E. Q. p! q• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
+ R  v" g7 A& F; C$ N/ C) A) n• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
, f% C  Z  V3 {/ J; W8 K( n4 B0 v' I• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
, d5 L$ W: ]) s: N0 N1 e• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
- g0 j1 H$ U9 s7 ]) h; J1 ~2 w) K• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
$ z' Y( w1 a8 a' h• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
0 C# k' G, l: k+ J7 }. G$ h• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
- {/ ^" m0 [  u( a• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
