" r  o" S( X. p/ {$ y& W0 XAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

! C; a. Q* J* w% c# D! a5 ODUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

3 |% e( v6 l( C; u5 ^7 G/ U• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
5 _( ?* ^' K3 O/ f. T• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

9 x2 B/ k( Y/ I) f, u8 b% T• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
, g0 I$ r4 t" D. Y; w• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
) W, V5 u6 z* b! L3 j1 r4 W+ G9 f0 B• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
- l3 e& `& a7 k8 b) r# V) V1 `, a2 d# _1 h• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
/ N7 b* _( b! n  `% u3 ?, {• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
7 q8 j* }1 U6 I+ t' g. K• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
