Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

' d3 ^' P0 B( s3 `" \$ \. XSpecific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of " o' }3 o* g8 `! W% k" S$ l% E7 o: k& l( U
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by : ?- U0 ?1 D1 Z9 T8 P$ {/ ]
the Board of Directors;
8 `9 H) j8 r) m+ y' K+ A• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations . G8 h% }5 V7 N* T
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 1 M9 s; u* f9 J$ a* N& x
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
/ `1 c4 t0 E( c6 w) v% b/ J) E• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
. p+ \ Y/ H+ ^7 q0 jobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

( W; S- w3 e1 `3 V, z• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; ( I/ o' _' S1 l& ]
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ; N) I; r8 H, P
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
5 ^1 h. E0 s8 G• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ' R# s, b- @6 l/ v W0 r3 T* x5 K" Z
changing needs of the organization and community;
" g. Q2 T) z( I8 _- T8 f" r• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
+ ]4 s/ h5 t2 o$ D' d/ _ y9 U. ecommitments;
}; K* V) M! m) x) q& E4 \) W' N) C' i• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
( \. l3 R) p. j x8 G# V* J• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
$ G! ?; a7 e) a5 a3 g% U* \4 o8 Fselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
( O+ S! K g% p z9 C8 @• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring $ {9 B* `+ t3 H0 g- E) l
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 9 h( ^* O% L4 F
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
/ c- v- I) }) D1 r- ~) Bperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
: e: {5 q. q0 m: w3 P# zthe forthcoming year; & h: j1 Z% m5 K0 i8 }- Y
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
* f2 t7 e) g5 }$ v9 ? G' apractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 8 M w* t# J7 Z' F( ~( l
YWCA Canada; and : L9 o! C4 `, u+ [3 B
• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. |0 }$ e3 Q% x0 Q' k2 S/ Q" o

, T1 @0 l4 }) y5 |0 d3 C o• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
7 B2 a f8 s( U1 R• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 8 `* q$ a' E7 b! f# A2 z+ a, |: W$ i

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting # ]4 N; G% ?! t2 r
