Responsibilities

: J; H& L' {3 Y2 RReporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
" n i9 d) m- [9 b0 t3 zexecution of the YWCA Strategy - J+ e# L1 C+ ?" b: }; e

2 N* x) c% O! X6 _+ y* a2 |; U6 k• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of + t% t7 U# B8 N3 X) X* o
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ! S" Q: L; I, C7 s# S' U
the Board of Directors;
' F p: R C$ s% _* o4 \7 V• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 K3 R. S# P& P8 w
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to

* s7 M! p% |! a# |1 u# P, r8 B• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
( V" ^: F$ V. W) R, x+ Oobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
4 x* E; T1 ~) h# \• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion

• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the # [7 e2 W* G; T
changing needs of the organization and community;
! [" R0 l$ y2 J+ f R5 q4 M• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue # F' I- w! E j; c- U* I9 x6 }
commitments; 5 o; t; _+ J7 r' J9 D" Y* V9 Z
• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; . h6 m* H* J3 O7 R2 v" b
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ! B; E; m7 E6 F x3 p+ }1 `
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; $ f; E& n7 l! ^) g+ v* X. L" ]& m
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ( o) i9 |3 j* P1 t* y3 N
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 1 K+ Y N, w: S8 Q) l' O: A
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
# k( E. Y9 a9 x" |. f: y% B• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal " k, {2 D' R9 m2 p
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 0 }, ~& `. X5 b+ e: ?) F( ~( s- D
the forthcoming year; , p5 G5 q3 L6 O E$ b! R
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
% z& b2 B9 ~& }! Z* p- Gpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of $ l2 O( y3 F3 c' j) Z& s- h" _! l

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
6 m3 l; L e9 }. l# L• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
( I# x6 M$ V$ ~( A• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
# ]" z: h9 `# k4 {2 s5 Eabilities; 6 N x* O" e0 z- O8 \% q, r
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, " x( P5 i! U- [3 N' }$ M
Networking and Fundraising; 4 Y9 K0 \: Z4 w7 B$ I+ ]7 R
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
