Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
& A: [: p& R& A6 `# M, [ After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again. " n) U$ P, I; Y/ H- z: B1 d) Y
It is a cycle.$ ^6 I: j4 n& A- k& v
2 n B+ r1 r/ k: z) V! A6 YWe isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.
E0 o( X4 Z0 ^: uSwap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.7 S& v( M- _2 d5 C. e0 b
The problem should be inside the bucket.

9 C0 n0 ~' H: ]. p/ p* w. g6 gWhen the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.! i/ M, p7 @& `4 v& M
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
8 I4 }3 i8 S T* v& K' WConfirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same. |! R6 J7 N/ c6 b6 `; n
5 L6 E$ o4 l! B0 KThe next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.. N1 |6 f) n5 F5 O+ X: M
They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again. _, |! D& v! ?0 b
It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.
3 y) g3 |, X, W% a5 Y0 x, `, b8 Q7 N& |7 p& E( k, C1 _
The coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them.
