Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
$ y( Y2 u+ J: H- ]$ g7 V) |Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
9 `1 D! v: s5 }: r+ LMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
! @( l( N  j& G6 E9 s- `  CMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
7 h0 x1 i% B  K" K" X, \. EParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
& }( J, ]/ }# Z9 r: CMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
8 I" u: k5 }) r1 D0 mComputer skills an asset.
0 d8 @# y1 d+ X, GAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
