Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.
# q& v4 b8 |8 ?3 ?4 dTerms: Full-time (35 hours per week).
Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

Responsibilities:
# p0 N9 G' Q& d/ U-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
; O5 f( Z! p* u( ]-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
% p7 I( H1 Z5 l* h; b-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

3 U6 b6 K: W) `) fKey Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
" o0 J+ |  |) W& P7 Y7 Z: t-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
% }: v8 P7 D4 X4 _, V4 `1 R8 g, V-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

5 i" x( f) b8 `5 Z" K-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
5 x  O" c3 y' N3 w: s-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
-        Skills in marketing & promotions
6 U! A' _7 I# ?! C-        Some evening and weekend work may be required

& z# v4 H. i) l4 s! _3 AOther: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
