Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.
Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).

Responsibilities:
( g8 E! S4 |9 U! R" ^8 v: H, w-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
3 i9 R7 B4 [; v. S% _7 J-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
2 d0 }2 t: {6 A! F' q& a4 N-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
2 d. m. Y- Z- Q-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
9 H8 w) j- j# H. o-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
1 _* x8 K; X7 ^- d6 ?$ j-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
, h- F; r" t- |; n-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
/ G, T9 {) g+ u: S# L% V. O0 u-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
& }$ I2 Y3 }1 y. X' }-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license


Assets:
-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health

-        Some evening and weekend work may be required
