To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:4 t! K) ^2 _$ \9 F

have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician ' h, t- \, \0 ~1 ]9 \% Q. n- m1 p
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.9 M+ i$ L1 f* L- U* a
' L: v+ ^6 @9 I' L' Lcomplete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office7 y! Z0 }! e* T0 i0 {% @8 `! \
X* R, Z0 g7 r' r3 Y; fpay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above 6 ~4 b! B$ @- u# A0 J9 O- \$ b6 h& q
This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
