To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:1 w$ Y# S! W+ [% [; J# |
/ a) B' Z5 x! r
have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician 8 T6 j. p* G- x" r5 y- S
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.- m8 s, B) U3 \) B' J% P
# {& P6 ~( C, `7 wcomplete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office6 g! n% F4 M0 V( ^

pay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above ! T# s# e) i9 i0 W* K5 {2 M0 L: Q
This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
